-> I saw Booooooooourne. I am shallow enough to admit that even if it was terrible (yes, there were plot problems but I liked it anyway!) I would still watch it over and over again because yes, Jeremy Renner's naked torso is lovely and lovingly lit/wet/there through most of the movie. The Aaron/Marta really did fill my Jason/Marie yen. I especially loved how subtle JR was about playing Aaron just a little too abrupt, a little too quick to be confrontational, a little socially off-putting because it doesn't come naturally to him. I want all the Marta/Aaron where he's adjusting and she's patient and also yes, FIRST TIMES, LOTS OF FIRST TIMES. I went looking and there is like NO FIC but there's hardly any for Bourne/Marie either which is just tragic.

-> Awwww... Bourne art by [livejournal.com profile] johanirae.

-> Not sure if anyone would be interested but:

Pick any passage from something I've written, and leave it in a comment here. Then ask a question about it - what I was thinking, why that's the plot twist I chose, what I think might happen later, how I could've totally changed it up... anything you want to know.

Y'know, it doesn't even have to be a specific passage. You could ask, why did blah do blah in blah?

This was my favorite part. You just know Aaron is not that experienced with women, though I'm sure his squad mates made sure he's not a virgin, and such a pretty woman as Marta is a completely different species. I like that it's moving so slow. I want another movie (and fic!) to see how how they progress. I've also decided that if they end up teaming up Bourne and Cross and Marta, that will be the end of the CIA. Nobody will be left alive. Which wouldn't be a bad thing except no more movies. Though I suppose they could start on MI6 and FSB.

Though I don't have a specific passage, I'd adore an update on the Avengers D&D AU.

It was pretty awful, thou, as much as JR was nice to look at, it wasn't enough to save the film.

I actually enjoyed it, but I think I enjoyed the Marta/Aaron relationship aspect and kind of ignored everything else.

Awww *HUG* thank you dear I am so flattered :D :D :D

Hmmm, a small question then :D I love your treehouse fic so much!!! Just wondering, why doesn't clint stay with coulson when he lost his room? (Or wait, is coulson also living in SHIELD HQ?)

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Coulson had no idea that Clint was staying in a conference room. Clint kind of has this silly thing where he CAN'T ASK FOR HELP and Coulson would have offered in a second if he'd known that Clint was displaced. Their personal relationship is very new and tentative at that stage. Later on, Coulson would have had no problem calling Clint a dumbass and dragging him home.

I wanted to lick his biceps. /business as usual

I thought it was well choreographed and the acting was fantastic but the ending...oh gosh the ending. What even was that.

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

I wanted to just squidge the hell out of his little tummy every time I saw it.

I think they might have wanted to give the ending that first movie feel, but leave it open to further movies. It kinda rang of them not knowing how to wrap it up given those parameters.

Eep, though if there is another movie, I fear for Marta. Unless Aaron stages her death for her safety ala Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible, the easiest thing they could do would be another revenge movie.

He just kept taking off his shirt and I was like, THANK YOU \o/ every single time. <3

I know they wanted to make it a bit open-ended but it just felt...ugh, let me try to write my feelings up tmr and I'll email you. :)

I really hope not. Wouldn't that be too much like the first trilogy though? The smart thing would be to avoid those comparisons, right?

He just kept taking off his shirt and I was like, THANK YOU

I don't know if it was just me but him sitting at the table in the end with the loose fitting pants and he's curled over a little and TUMMY!!

The amount of sweat/water shirtlessness certainly didn't harm his cause.

The only thing I would object to was the UGH BEARD OF UGGO! It didn't even look like it belonged to him, was just some scrubby thing glued to his face at the last minute, like he was supposed to grow a beard and he couldn't and they were like, okay, this fuzz we found in the vacuum cleaner will have to do!

I know they wanted to make it a bit open-ended but it just felt...ugh, let me try to write my feelings up tmr and I'll email you. :)

Yay! I have feelings too!!! I am very interested in yours! This movie left me pondering because it seemed a little disjointed. There was this tight, punchy relationship-run stream and then this clunky conspiracy stream and they just didn't seem to be running in the same direction.

Wouldn't that be too much like the first trilogy though?

I would like to think that they would be smarter than that but these action franchises... the women just tend to disappear... :(

Ok, I finally saw this....and I've been waiting to, simply so that I could comment here

I think I'm the minority, but I loved it. Not sure that I would have loved it as much if another actor had been playing Aaron, but JR and RW together made this movie.

At the end of the day, this was the story of a man trying to stay who he has become. As that, I liked it. I even loved the ending, simply because of JRs luminous smile.

BUT PAMELA LANDY.............. howwwwwwwwwwww is she the bad guy, the traitor suddenly??

I really hope this is a sequel hook, and the next film is Bourne, Cross, Marta and Bourne's ex-handler/sometime love interest-ish girl ALL joining together to kick some CIA butt

How am I the only one squeeing about this movie-- I went in with such dread, having read everyones scathing reviews-- and I loved it

(Of course, the science has to be completely hand-waved, COMPLETELY, and there was not nearly enough JR and Edward Norton screen time)

But all in all, I loved this movie.

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY enjoyed it - but I think I enjoyed the Marta/Aaron running for their lives and being ADORBS movie and not the conspiracy movie they tried to wedge in there as well. I think it would have been MUCH better if it was a tighter chase movie and they didn't try to ham-fist it into the existing Bourne canon, other than maybe explaining that they had to do away with this other program because Bourne went rogue, leave it at that. Don't try to shoe-horn Pamela Landy in and don't feel compelled to show Matt Damon's mug every six seconds like SEE, BOURNE IS HERE TOO, DON'T HATE US, WE'RE STILL MAKING A BOURNE MOVIE.

They should have made an Aaron movie. His backstory was compelling and layered enough that they could have used more of the screen time looking at that then having pensive "meetings" about the Bourne stuff happening and showing that reporter being shot again. WE SAW THAT IN THE OTHER MOVIE, DIDN'T NEED TO SHOW IT AGAIN, DIDN'T NEED TO TRY AND MAKE IT PART OF THIS CANON.

It's weird the stuff they treated as "assumed" knowledge (Pamela Landy - if you hadn't seen the other movies you would be like, what, who the hell is that - why do they keep showing her??) and the stuff they felt compelled to repeat.

From: [identity profile] cxw1065.livejournal.com

Ah, I see what you mean

I kinda assumed that the movie was weighted the way it was to attract people to whom Aaron was NOT inherently interesting-- perhaps they didn't fully trust JR's ability to pull in the crowd (fools)

I also think they WERE desperately throwing in a sequel hook-- thats why the Pamela Landy stuff is in there (and if I'm cynical, I'll say they might also have been thinking of DVD sales of the original trilogy, but perhaps thats a tad too cynical)

In some ways I'm glad they didn't give us too much, simply cos it leaves so much room for fic

Speaking of fic, have you explored the Bourne legacy tag over at AO3-- there are some lovely, well written stories over there, my fave being a Mission Impossible cross over written by tigriswolf

http://archiveofourown.org/works/484018

There are some first-time stories too,Below deck by mapleandmahogany being a bit of a stand out.

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

I have worked through the Bourne Legacy tag... I guess I'm just spoiled by other bigger fandoms that have hundreds of stories and I think there were... eighteen in TOTAL and a bunch of them were Aaron/Clint Barton crossovers.

Not enough Marta/Aaron awkward first times and getting to know each other and PEOPLE SHOULD JUST WRITE STUFF FOR ME THAT I WANT... hee!! :D

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

I don't know why your second comment got marked as spam??? :(

I have anon posting filtered but that's it. Maybe try again, it might have been LJ weirdness.

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Hahahaaa... I'm seeing it again Friday night because a friend of mine wanted to see it so I am "doing her a favour" by y'know, forcing myself to watch Jeremy Renner's tummy the movie again.

you know, I had heard that the movie was not so good, and I think that's why it worked for me: I wasn't expecting much but JR, and hey, JR was great!! yay! lol! enjoyed the heck out of him and the fact that the romance with the doc was barely there but building. loved that.

I'm gonna ask a question in reverse: in which of your fics do you prefer your Tony (because I always love him in your fics, but I was wondering if you had a favourite)

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

the romance with the doc was barely there but building.

THE FURTHEST THEY GOT WAS HANDHOLDING WHICH IS NOT EVEN FIRST BASE AND IT STILL KEEEEELED ME DED PURELY BECAUSE OF KEMISTRY.

in which of your fics do you prefer your Tony

Oh WOW. Ummm... I really like when people assume Tony is being a dick when he's NOT EVEN but I suppose I write him that way ALOT. I think my best Tony was not even a story about him. It was Brand New Day (http://archiveofourown.org/works/348933) which was the Clint!Amnesia fic just because Tony was immediately in HELP FAMILY mode when he found out stuff was happening and just took for granted that despite time passing, the Avengers, they were gonna assemble and I can just picture Tony being quietly distraught that they separated and despite the circumstances being SUPER JAZZED there is a reason for them to come together again.
