-> I saw Booooooooourne. I am shallow enough to admit that even if it was terrible (yes, there were plot problems but I liked it anyway!) I would still watch it over and over again because yes, Jeremy Renner's naked torso is lovely and lovingly lit/wet/there through most of the movie. The Aaron/Marta really did fill my Jason/Marie yen. I especially loved how subtle JR was about playing Aaron just a little too abrupt, a little too quick to be confrontational, a little socially off-putting because it doesn't come naturally to him. I want all the Marta/Aaron where he's adjusting and she's patient and also yes, FIRST TIMES, LOTS OF FIRST TIMES. I went looking and there is like NO FIC but there's hardly any for Bourne/Marie either which is just tragic.

-> Not sure if anyone would be interested but:

Pick any passage from something I've written, and leave it in a comment here. Then ask a question about it - what I was thinking, why that's the plot twist I chose, what I think might happen later, how I could've totally changed it up... anything you want to know.

Y'know, it doesn't even have to be a specific passage. You could ask, why did blah do blah in blah?

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY enjoyed it - but I think I enjoyed the Marta/Aaron running for their lives and being ADORBS movie and not the conspiracy movie they tried to wedge in there as well. I think it would have been MUCH better if it was a tighter chase movie and they didn't try to ham-fist it into the existing Bourne canon, other than maybe explaining that they had to do away with this other program because Bourne went rogue, leave it at that. Don't try to shoe-horn Pamela Landy in and don't feel compelled to show Matt Damon's mug every six seconds like SEE, BOURNE IS HERE TOO, DON'T HATE US, WE'RE STILL MAKING A BOURNE MOVIE.

They should have made an Aaron movie. His backstory was compelling and layered enough that they could have used more of the screen time looking at that then having pensive "meetings" about the Bourne stuff happening and showing that reporter being shot again. WE SAW THAT IN THE OTHER MOVIE, DIDN'T NEED TO SHOW IT AGAIN, DIDN'T NEED TO TRY AND MAKE IT PART OF THIS CANON.

It's weird the stuff they treated as "assumed" knowledge (Pamela Landy - if you hadn't seen the other movies you would be like, what, who the hell is that - why do they keep showing her??) and the stuff they felt compelled to repeat.

Ah, I see what you mean

I kinda assumed that the movie was weighted the way it was to attract people to whom Aaron was NOT inherently interesting-- perhaps they didn't fully trust JR's ability to pull in the crowd (fools)

I also think they WERE desperately throwing in a sequel hook-- thats why the Pamela Landy stuff is in there (and if I'm cynical, I'll say they might also have been thinking of DVD sales of the original trilogy, but perhaps thats a tad too cynical)

In some ways I'm glad they didn't give us too much, simply cos it leaves so much room for fic

Speaking of fic, have you explored the Bourne legacy tag over at AO3-- there are some lovely, well written stories over there, my fave being a Mission Impossible cross over written by tigriswolf

There are some first-time stories too,Below deck by mapleandmahogany being a bit of a stand out.

I have worked through the Bourne Legacy tag... I guess I'm just spoiled by other bigger fandoms that have hundreds of stories and I think there were... eighteen in TOTAL and a bunch of them were Aaron/Clint Barton crossovers.

Not enough Marta/Aaron awkward first times and getting to know each other and PEOPLE SHOULD JUST WRITE STUFF FOR ME THAT I WANT... hee!! :D
