Dean was carefully scribbling out Dean is a douchebag written on his newly casted arm when Sam appeared in the waiting room, looking a little nervous.
“They asked me to wait here,” he said, chewing his bottom lip.
Dean scowled. “Dude, I told you this was a bad idea.”
“I got them wrong,” Sam protested.
“On purpose? How do you even know?”
“If I saw squiggly lines, I said circle. If it was a square, I said squiggly lines.”
“You… saw?”
“Can we not talk about this now?”
“Okay.”
An hour later, Dean was eyeing the door. “Let’s just leave.”
“They’ll notice.”
“Who gives a crap?”
“We didn’t get the cash yet.”
“Sam, I’m starting to think going hungry over the stateline is the least of our worries.”
“We can’t.”
“Why the hell not?”
“Because I walked past a couple of marines on my way back to the waiting room. I think they were headed for the foyer.”
“Shit.”
“Yeah, pretty much.”

Sam had his head down on the desk in the interview room when he heard the door open. He’d been internally ranting at himself for just walking into their current predicament and didn’t raise his head until someone cleared their throat. He looked up to see a small, blonde and very efficient looking woman crossing to the other chair.
She smiled at him warmly as she sat which was probably meant to disarm but ended up making Sam more nervous.
“Look, I’m not sure who you think we are-”
“Samuel Winchester,” the woman interjected, flipping open a manila folder. “We’ve been trying to track you down for a long time but you basically disappeared off the map after Stanford.”
“Okay,” Sam sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face. “Maybe I’m exactly who you think I am.”
“I mean, I didn’t quite believe it when I got the call that you’d just walked in. I thought these facilities were a waste of time. I’m on the losing side of a lot of wagers here.”
“Would you mind telling me what’s going on? I’m starting to freak out a little and I’d like to see Dean.”
“Ah yes, he’s a little bit of a problem. A number of outstanding warrants, including murder.”
“He didn’t-”
“We know that Mr Winchester,” she said with an airy wave of the hand.
“You do?”
“Absolutely.”
“Would you mind telling the FBI that?”
“Of course.” Sam sat back, stunned. “Provided you can do something for us, that is,” the woman added, almost as an afterthought and Sam groaned, dropping his head to the table again.
“Always a catch. My life is just one big catch.”
“We’re just asking for six months.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Sam blinked.
“Six months, travel to an undisclosed location to be involved in an ongoing scientific endeavour that may or may not prove to be the greatest that mankind has ever known.”
“Oh,” Sam breathed. “Is that all?”
“Your brother’s record will be expunged and we will of course provide you with a very attractive remuneration package.”
“I’m not going anywhere without Dean,” Sam said slowly, wondering if it was going to be a deal breaker.
“Actually, we were going to insist he goes too. Turns out, your family is quite unique. You both carry a particular gene.”
“Is any of this going to start making sense anytime soon?”
“Give it time,” the woman said, her warm, scary smile back.

I've just started getting with SPN (been an SGA ho, long time gone) and I was looking for crossovers when you post this!
You have made me so very happy.
I am a fan of your SGA stuff (especially the Postcard Series and Hegira) and seeing you write this? WIN. Squeeing aside, you've set up a believable premise that suits both shows. Dean was absolutely spot on and I look forward to finding out why the government has been tailing Sam (duh), or Dean, or both of them.
The pic is great, too. Where did it come from and is it snaggable?

Oh, xover!
Must have Dean meeting Ronan!
*bounce*
Or, you know...anyone.
Sam'n'Dean on Atlantis!
Wheeeee!
*poor Sam, squiggly lines and circles, hehehehe*

Somebody get out the rulers.
God, now that image is in my head. You're going to write more, right? We get to see them interact with the SGA crew?
Oh please!
Love,
Julie-Rae
