It amuses me greatly that I think of myself mostly as an angsty, rip out your heart kinda writer and yet my most popular stories just... aren't.
I was surprised at the response and general love of a little story about John Sheppard being turned into a polar bear and now my far and away most popular SPN stories have been a short one about poor Dean Winchester being cursed and ending up a doll roughly the size of his brother's hand and the brothers ending up babysitting a rather rambunctious severed hand for Halloween.
Is it the crack? Is it the transformation? Is it that we all just need a laugh at the end of a long day?
I certainly have read my own fair share of crack-y fic that I have adored. Most notably
skoosiepants with both her wonderful Harry Potter/SGA crossover and probably my most favourite Once Upon a Furry Octopus. Not to mention
mmmchelle's Inanimate which is not!transformationfic.
So what's your favourite crack!addled romp that left you going Hee! Or Ha! or Wha??

(I remember reading the polar bear fic and I think that night or something I was in the bathtub and I got this image of Elizabeth taking a nice leisurely bath in her quarters and suddenly she hears something, and this little white nose pokes around the corner. Then the polar bear figures out there's water and splash! Then Elizabeth glares and mutters something about how he'd better not remember anything. *g* Cracked me up so bad I slopped water over the side.)
