Usually, I am slow moving like pudding hopping from one fandom to the next. I started out in Stargate (and yahoo groups, dear, dear, yahoo groups) and basically stuck with it for a few years. Then Supernatural hooked me in (I don't even remember how - I remember avoiding it like the plague initially). That was a long (and still enduring considering I'm working on my
spn_j2_bigbang) relationship.
Like molasses, I moved on to Inception, because a movie hadn't hooked me like that for a long time and the stories coming out of the fandom were interesting. The playing field was endless and the bromance epic.
So, Avengers. What the hell? Why did it whup me upside the head and how did it happen so fast? Those of you sticking with me for the Inception and Supernatural, never fear, I'm as slow to let a fandom go as I am to move onto a new one and still have plenty of WIPS in both, but geez. I don't know, I can't explain it.
I ship everyone with everyone. I'll give anything a bash and usually I settle on just the one pairing. There's Steve/Tony of course, but then there's Darcy/Clint, Clint/Coulson, Steve/Bucky, Steve/Clint (I have not seen one story with this yet but hope springs eternal or I'll have to write it anyway) etc, etc. I like reading about them all being BFFs, or doomed romances, or domestic schmoop or, or, or...
Anything.
I rolled my eyes in Chris Evans' general direction at first. But then I saw Sunshine and I was like, okay, he took a risk and moved away from the general pretty boy role. Then I saw The Losers and was... maybe there might be a little bit of a crush there. After Captain America I was firmly in the he is adorable camp.
I was dubious about Thor, ended up watching it on DVD because I got it as a Xmas present and my goodness, it was the most RIDIC, glorious thing ever. Where had Darcy been all my life? Chris Hemsworth, I remember you being in Home and Away you giant goof, how did you grow up like that?
I already had affection for Iron Man (but was sorely disappointed by the second movie - what the hell happened there??).
The thing is, people in RL keeping saying Who? when I mention Jeremy Renner.
For your viewing pleasure, this is Jeremy Renner:

HUM-UN-A
I just... wasn't prepared for him. He's taking over the Bourne franchise and that would have given me the heebies (because I have enduring affection for all three movies and Matt Damon) but now I'm okay, even excited about it because it's him.

HOW EVEN REAL JEREMY RENNER??
He's in stuff I'm excited to see. He has ARMS that I'm excited to see. I gave the new Mission Impossible movie a chance just because of him and boy, was I pleasantly surprised! (I loved the first one, then... DISASTER I guess because hoo, boy were those some bad sequels).
I'm sorry though, I still can't sit through SWAT. Even Jeremy Renner doesn't have that power.

I thought that object by his hand was a gun for AGES, until I realized it was actually a wrench. It's a little... random considering behind him is a car that's UPSIDE down but then I thought, maybe he's so badass he flipped a car just with a wrench.
Anyway, the point of this is to say that I'm smitten, so apologies if that gets old because you're like, what the hell, I don't see it, not my cuppa. BUT I am glacial in my fandom movements so don't think I'm abandoning you if you didn't sign up for Avengers. I'm just playing with my new toy, will return you to your regularly scheduled programming soon, I promise.

"you are such a pain in my neck and yet also strangely hot". (Steve would be in favour of sex with Clint because it's a way to get Clint to stop talking. Essentially.)
Hahahaaa! Steve is all, wait, this is how I shut you up? Why haven't I been doing this since the beginning and Clint is all like, YES, WHY HAVEN'T YOU?? :DDD

New people are great! Even if some of you confuse me. :) I guess I'm paranoid b/c one of my first fb comments in this fandom was mostly a lecture about how shitty the canon I liked/wrote in was. So we all have our issues. :)
And this is a horribly belated comment, sorry. I've been having trouble keeping up with life. But I came across this Silver Age scan and thought you would appreciate the glance at Clint/Steve interactions. I am also now considering the image of Clint trashtalking Steve at inappropriate times. ie, in bed.
Is that the best you got for me, old man? etc. :)

But Steve is OLD FASHIONED and wants to have all the FEELS and is confused by the urge to just slam Clint again things and maul him.
