They have a system and a calendar for alternating. Rodney drew up a schedule just to avoid arguments.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity
John will read in the same room Rodney's working. John says he likes the hum when Rodney is really thinking hard, the almost tangible buzz of it when he really gets going.
who uses all the hot water in the morning
Rodney takes long, leisurly showers because he's never had to share with a whole unit. It works out though because John's always up early enough to be first.
what they order from take out'
They both like Chinese.
what is the most trivial thing they fight over
How long it takes for Rodney to get going in the morning. Rodney complains that not everyone can look like a Calvin Klein model when they roll out of bed in the morning.
who does most of the cleaning
John tends to settle for tidying around the hurrican that is Rodney.
who controls the netflix queue
Rodney insists on being in charge but John will sneak on and swap out for things he wants to see and he knows Rodney will enjoy despite himself.
who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working
Rodney fixes it himself, or he tries to, gives up in the middle claiming it's obviously too menial a task for his vast intellect and then John will call. He'll always let Rodney have a go first though because Rodney likes complaining more than anything in the world.
who steals the blankets
Rodney does and then complains about John's cold feet. John just rolls his eyes.
who leaves their stuff around
Rodney leaves everything, everywhere. His mother gave up and eventually John does too, just making himself a neat little hole in the chaos to exist in.
who remembers to buy the milk
John will pick it up on the way home.
who remembers anniversaries
Rodney will claim he remembers, because he always has an extra gift squirrelled away for when John announces that it's their anniversary. John forgives him because Rodney tends to just buy things for him that he thinks he'll like and save them which totally counts.
