Never, ever, EVER will I again wait 15 years between dentist visits. I'm just going through an ongoing treatment hell... Fillings today, on opposite sides so the parts of my face that aren't numb feel twice the size.

Anyway, I'm determined not to be blue about it. The sun is shining, I'm not at work (and have the day off tomorrow) and I had a good weekend.

Ficlet by request Happy Ending Meme:

Any character/pairing from the fandoms I usually write get a happy ending. Either canon or from my stories... (want to know what ultimately happens to the zombie!bunnies?)

Only exclusion is any ongoing verse... ;)

If you're still taking prompts ... happy ending for Walter Harriman?

Alise runs her hand over his head as she passes and Walter grins and ducks. A beer slips into his hand from the other side and Walter nods a thanks.

"Did you just make it up, Sir?" Walter asks, watching Alise scoop their daughter up and spin her. He looks sideways then and Hammond is flushing and averting his gaze.

"Not at all, son," he says gruffly.

"Special Attache to the President?" Walter prods, the grin still firmly on his face. "In Intergalactic Matters? C'mon now... it sounds like you weren't even trying by the end of the title."

Hammond chuffs a laugh, taking a large swallow of his own beer. The sound of his grandkids playing is caught on the wind and brought to them. Hammond is retired now but Walter is fully aware that he'll have weight where it counts till the day he dies.

It seems in this case, he's thrown it in Walter's direction.

"If you don't want it..." Hammond puts out there although he's still not quite meeting Walter's eyes. His own though crinkle up in amusement because of course -

"Yes, Sir. I want it," Walter says with a wry chuckle.

"And do me a favour, son," Hammond says. "Drop the Sir?"

"No, sir."

Perfect Walter.
They should take him to Atlantis! Chuck should get to keep his job, but Walter would make everything run so efficiently. I think even Rodney would like him (in a Rodney way, you know. Like: "That Harrison guy doesn't completely suck" "It's Harriman, Rodney!")

Oh, yay! That's wonderful, and the last line gave me a huge smile. Thank you!

And I hope you're feeling better. Taking happy-ending prompts was a lovely thing to do.
