Never, ever, EVER will I again wait 15 years between dentist visits. I'm just going through an ongoing treatment hell... Fillings today, on opposite sides so the parts of my face that aren't numb feel twice the size.

Anyway, I'm determined not to be blue about it. The sun is shining, I'm not at work (and have the day off tomorrow) and I had a good weekend.

The desert is not quite the same... but it's close enough. Sha're closes her eyes and breathes in, scenting jasmine on the wind, the sweet wine that Mala always made when the spring was bountiful.

"Are you sure?" The woman beside her is pleasant-faced and sweet sounding. She glows unlike anything Sha're has ever seen.

"Yes," Sha're says, nodding as she looks over her work, this place she has created. The lines are blurred between her world and the one he'd often spoken about.

His Egypt.

"Yes," Sha're repeats. "We will be happy here."

Now she waits.
