Okay, so this is part self-pimpage and part the hope that other writers on my flist will do this and fill my friends page with truckloads of their fic links for me to troll through since I am on holidays for a week... wahoooo!!
Also, because I've only had this fic journal up and running for a little while and have linked to a lot of people who's recent stuff I've enjoyed but would relish the chance of seeing some earlier pieces.
Go on... you know you want to...

...please forgive some of the non-ellejay links... I haven't finished rearchiving stuff in my journal.
My favorite story of the year
The Butterfly Tide
This just worked a lot better than I expected and was one of those rare instances when something did and I didn't have to change it a bunch of times. Basically the team's time in between being stranded in the past and their alternative selves showing up. There were a lot of fics dealing with the dork!verse SG1 but I hadn't seen anything about the originals... (Mild Sam/Jack - team fic mostly)
My best story of the year
The Postcard Series - In Passing,In Flux,At Rest
My first solid foray into both AU (partly because the last chapter cycles back to Atlantis) and McKay/Sheppard as a pairing and yes... I'm a little bit hooked now... I wasn't quite prepared for the response it got and it was one of the easiest's things I've written. When a story just flows like that you know you're home.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion
Periphery
Ah... that's a weird category... I'm just putting this in because I actually really like it but know anything with an original character (ye gads!!) gets kinda overlooked mostly. This is actually Sheppard/Weir but using an original character as a vehicle.
Most fun story
Kaboom
Actually written as a backup for
sg1teamficathon for
majorsamfan, I think this has turned into one of my favourite stories... Mostly because I usually stay well clear of Teal'c and hadn't written any actual gen fic in a while and liked how this went. I'll tell you a secret... it was written in fifteen minutes.
Most sexy story
Have to go with The Palest Sky for this one.
This is
pegasus_b and Jack/Rodney, Teyla/Sheppard and having had the relationships so well established in
tafkarfanfic's "Dark Moon, High Tide" and
raqs' "Under a Broken Moon", it would have been hard to go wrong with these. Believe me, I didn't see it until I read these AU's but boy howdy does Jack/Rodney work but I think the relationship I handles best was Sheppard/Teyla. I like this because this story actually made me actually like the character on the show... I was annoyed with her up until that point.
Story with the single sexiest moment
Seduce - Part 1 and Part 2
Jack let his fingers splay so the thumb dipped under the collar of Daniel’s shirt and the other four fingers carded lightly through the soft hair at Daniel’s nape.
Okay, I do like porn... but when I think of sexy I usually think of the lead up... the tension before...
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story
Is it cheating to say that I don't think I have one of these... If anyone's read something of mine and thought those words... lemme know. ;)
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters
That would have to be 'Palest Sky' again because I actually like Teyla as a character now after writing her in a longer story.
Hardest story to write
The Promise
Mostly, because this was the first stargate story I wrote (it might be a little over 12 months old but I haven't done one of these before). Also because this story is a character piece between Daniel and Sam and I hadn't actually watched much of the show but I loved their dynamic.
Biggest Disappointment
Never Say Never
Sam/Jack, radiation hallucinations and it just feels really... clunky. It just doesn't work like I wanted it to.
Biggest Surprise
The Blade
Rodney/Sheppard kinda fuedal Japan-esque AU, my latest foray into
sga_flashfic. The response was amazing including the kind of thought people put into the world I'd created. I posted it without being completely happy with it and am going to rework it because I think it deserves it but I just wasn't ready (although thrilled) with the kind of thought people put into detailing why it did and didn't work for them.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story
Okay, I'm going to admit I'm stuck here... not sure I'm doing this properly but it might be Forgive because it's the only Teal'c centric piece I've written. I've been called prolific... but Teal'c is my archilles heal... I just can't write him well... This works okay but still... argh.
Also, because I've only had this fic journal up and running for a little while and have linked to a lot of people who's recent stuff I've enjoyed but would relish the chance of seeing some earlier pieces.
