Hi my lovely flisters...

I'm going to be stuck in the office late-ish every day this week. Suggest me some music to help pass the time...

What are you listening to at the moment? What classics do you love? What do you
think I might not have heard of?

I'm pretty eclectic in my tastes and will try anything once.

Help meeee! :)

since you asked...

The Boy has got me hooked on Regina Spektor. Um, I'm absolutely horrible at describing music, but I've seen her compared to Fionna Apple and Tori
Amos, which seems just a bit off to me, but works. I guess. She's areally very good. I recomend Samson and Baobabs. Begin to Hope probably has her best stuff on it.

Neutral Milk Hotel? I've been listening to a lot of them lately.

Oh, and I know you've heard of him, and you may throw things at me for this, but I got James Blunt's CD a few weeks ago, and I really, really like it. Plus, quite a few of the songs have fic potential. (No Bravery needs to be a SG1 or Atlantis fic, it really does.)

Hem's Eveningland album rocks my world, but I wouldn't call it rock. The lead singer has a lovely voice and the CD lives in the truck's player.

I just heard "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Jem last week and really enjoyed it. It was the music for a S/J vid on You Tube. I'd never heard of Jem (I do live under a rock), but based on that one song I ordered the 2 song mini CD that includes it from amazon. I hope I like the one other song, but even if I don't, that cover is enough.

Sorry you're going to be stuck late at the office.

Hrm. I just changed my playlist, having had a falling out with 30 Seconds to Mars and A Perfect Circle...

And now it's full of:
Lori Carson's Everything I Touch Runs Wild
The Strange Days soundtrack
The Avengers movie soundtrack
Run Lola Run soundtrack
and a bunch of random songs by The Cardigans (some off First Band on the Moon)

David Bowie. Earthling, Hours, Changes, and Heathen are all lovely albums.
Pet Shop Boys. Anything, really, although I'm rather adoring Disco 3, Release and Behavior right now.
Depeche Mode's Playing the Angel.

I posted a series of stripper type music on rfa a few weeks back. It's pretty eclectic.

I'll upload some music for you when I get done with classes today. Some bouncy stuff, some sad stuff. :)

I just downloaded the soundtrack to "The Last Kiss," and it's really good (if you liked Zach Braff's picks on "Garden State," you'll like this one, too).

For stuff that's not really heavy but just a slight bit harder, I always have Foo Fighters (I worship "There Is Nothing Left To Lose"), Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five, Red Hot Chili Peppers (any of 'em, but "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" is my favorite) and Green Day on hand.

Classical -- Respighi's "Pines of Rome," Gustav Holst's "The Planets," Copland's "Appalachian Springs," John Adams's "Short Ride On A Fast Machine" and I have a soft spot for anything by David Holsinger (more band-oriented than orchestral).

Yikes, I could go all day. Pick a genre and I'll rec.
