This five things... thing is a bit of a phenomenon... heh.

I have also been slack getting to my prompts... so here are some more. :)

Five Things Rodney McKay would never say…

1. I’m wrong.

2. You’re right.

3. I never would’ve thought of that.

4. I’m sorry, I take it back.

5. I can’t do this. (Actually, he said that one quite regularly but John just didn’t believe him).

Five TV shows that John Sheppard Tells His Team About...

“Honestly, it was Canadian. Why don’t you know it?”

Rodney crossed his arms and huffed. “I don’t know every Canadian thing in existence.”

“You’re saying there was a show where children were persecuted for not knowing the answer to a question?”

John blinked at Ronon. “No… it’s…I mean yes but-“

“That sounds terrible,” Teyla interjected.

“Oh for… look, it was funny!”

Teyla and Ronon gave him the exact same look, one he was pretty used to by then.

“The slime was harmless,” John tried and at that Rodney snorted. “What?” John demanded, turning in his seat.

“I’m sorry, but weren’t you the one swearing your head off when you got sprayed with Ancient coolant last week?”

It was John’s turn to cross his arms. “So?”

“So, that was slime and it was harmless and yet you pouted for three days because we all laughed.”

John opened his mouth and closed it again and then turned back to the HUD. “I hate you all,” he grumbled.

“I saw Jeopardy,” Ronon said, dropping his lunch tray onto the table next to John and himself into the seat.

“Oh yeah?”

“I didn’t see the Jeopardy.”

John snorted into his juice. “The whole point is you’re risking money, not life and limb.”

“Why isn’t it called Gambling then?” Ronon asked and John stopped with a muffin halfway to his mouth.

Sometimes Ronon was more logical than John could take in the morning.

Friday night football had become a bit of a tradition. John would get a couple of months worth of tapes whenever the Daedelus was in port and he would make sure they only watched one game a week, to make it last.

Teyla was an avid fan, liking the colour and battle element, although she was still a little irked that there were no women players. Elizabeth was a football fan from way back and would drop in if she was free. Rodney liked hanging out where there was popcorn.

Only Ronon resisted.

Mostly because he had become totally disillusioned when he’d found out that the footballers weren’t actually that big but were wearing padding.

“She’s blonde and kicks ass. What’s not to like?”

John turned over the Buffy box set in his hands.

“You’re a little obsessed, you know that?” he chuckled.

“I like this better than football,” Ronon mused.

“And that awful show with the slime,” Teyla added.

John blinked at them both. He then looked down at the small Athosian child on his lap with big eyes fixed to the screen and a thumb stuck firmly in his mouth.

“You scoff at guys with padding but muppets you are okay with?”

“I love this guy,” Ronon was chuckling and John looked up in time to see Cookie Monster devouring a whole plate of Styrofoam cookies, pieces flying everywhere.

“Yeah, well, you both eat the same.”
