Walking on sunshine and for once not getting my feet burned

-> It's starting to warm up here FINALLY. That winter felt like it went forever. I'm wearing open shoes today! My toes are all confused about what's going on. I think it's also easier to be... happier about things when the sun is shining. I just feel more, I don't know, determined to set things right in my life.

-> I WROTE. On the weekend, I wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote. I wrote 7k of my xmenbigbang so I might actually get to the minimum wordcount by the actual deadline and it's really important to me at the moment to finish something, to make a deadline. Also, I just realised that the deadline for the rough drafts is actually AFTER this weekend and not BEFORE which I had stuck in my head for some reason.

-> People have started posting requests for Christmas cards. It CANNOT be that late in the year already can it?? I had stuff I wanted to achieve by December and time is just slipping away like mad. I didn't do the Xmas card thing last year and I missed it - I missed receiving them as well as sending them. I still got a few random surprises in the mail but it wasn't the same. (deirdre_c - maybe your birthday package will arrive in time for Xmas, IDEK!!) It was stressful and I ended up sending stuff LATE but it was also fun and I think I'll just have to do eeet. Stay tuned for a request post in the next few days.

-> I wish I lived closer to you all. People organise and talk about fandom meet-ups and I would just love to do that.

-> I may be taking an actual real-life go somewhere HOLIDAY for the first time since I was like, 9 years old next year. Possibly Hawaii in April for a friend's birthday. I might have to eat beans on toast for the next 7 months to swing it because for some reason I earn good money, have a teeny tiny rent and no real debt and STILL HAVE NO CASH. Argh!

-> I've decided to make the rest of the year awesome just through the power of my brain.

And huh, it's getting colder here. Like, one minute we're all wearing tees and needing A/C at full blast and the next it's time for sweaters and coats. I actually like the cold, but I wish the weather would gradually change and look at me, complaining about the weather like an old grandma! Heh. I hope your summer will be fun and happy!

I utterly failed at holiday cards last year. I think I sent... actually, I'm pretty sure I didn't get any sent out (things just never seemed to come together). This year it is a personal goal to be better at that.

My flatmate sent me something from Kentucky and they got back and like, TWO MONTHS go by and it finally arrives. Not cool postal service!!

It just feels like winter was NEVERENDING and it rained so much. We're not used to it, we've had drought for like, ten years and suddenly it's all KAPOW, have buckets and buckets and buckets. The water catchment that was at like 9% capacity - suddenly it FLOODS everything in its path!

The American flatmate doubts our claims of drought because the rain started up right when he got here. I blame him.
