Dropped off the face of the earth for a week because I was in a car accident.
I'm up and about now but honestly - with the way my luck's running at the moment, I think someone should just put me down now. Either that or next year I should just skip June/July altogether just to be safe. (even though my birthday's in June. I really wasn't fussed this year and next year might be more of the same).
Ugh.
My seatbelt broke. MY SEATBELT BROKE!! WTFEVEN! (The actual seat belt part did not break, but the housing that held it to the car did so the seatbelt didn't lock so it basically became a useless bit of material) The one bit of luck was that the airbags deployed so I hit the airbag instead of the steering wheel but I've never been in a car with airbags deployed before. Carnage and smoke and DRAMA. They are VERY loud. I don't really remember the accident but I remember that noise.
My flu still lingers in the form of a cough that won't quite go and the neverending low-grade fever which means it's the middle of winter and I'm sweating all the time while other people are bundled up and looking at me like I'm crazy. What's annoying is that the day of the accident was the first day I hadn't really been coughing so NOW it's back?
I repeat, UGH.

(I think I saw a report once on airbags that said they're packed with powder or something to keep all the fabric from sticking together. If that's true, maybe you got some powder in your lungs, and that's why your coughing has come back?)

Be sure to report the failure to NHTSA. That should never happen. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

But seriously, seatbelt's should *not* break... maybe you can sue the car company for a lot of money? ;)
