The most awful, heartbreaking horrendous day was had yesterday.
I feel run over and powerless. Cried all the way into work this morning because I just didn't want to face it after what happened.
Can't really talk about it more than that because I don't really know what the rules are about that kind of thing but I would appreciate anyone telling me about GOOD news, about things that made them smile yesterday.
Help me brush back the curtains and let the sunshine in.
ETA: You guys are awesome and are making me smile when I didn't think I could.

Good news, hmm, I have a local friend who just found a job after a long search, so that's awesome for her.

No idea what a yellow butterfly fish looks like, but when you mentioned sunshine they're what came to mind. Oh wait, here you go: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_npNdeKukSL0/SZReZtrH-SI/AAAAAAAAT3g/h04nbfbxw30/P1270019.JPG
They're like little suns swimming in the ocean. ;D

One of the lower grade teachers made me smile yesterday. One of her students, when asked the plural of moose on a test, answered, "Deer."

Well, yesterday I watched (so I could be trained in) and 'early learners' science presentation/experiments. 3-4 year olds getting to play with all sorts of science toys (wooden kangaroos that hop when you get them on the right slope and birds that balance on their beak when you rest them on your elbow are awesome!). My friend who was training me was doing things like "So you're going to listen with your knees?" and the kids chorus of "No, your ears" was hilarious.

Yesterday at work I told someone about one of my favorite authors and she checked out one of the books that evening.
I am sorry your day was horrific and dreadful, and I hope things get better.

Good things from yesterday? the plants I delayed actually planting are doing very nicely. I was a very smart person and roasted a chicken at 11 pm, so we can have decent meals for the really hot days. I got my new driving glasses, to replace the ones I lost strawberry picking last week. We picked *EIGHT QUARTS* of organic strawberries *this* week.
The kitteh loves me a lot. We love you.

Umm, good stuff? When I was 14, this new guy started in our local library. Kinda cute, must have been straight out of high school. I never talked to him despite seeing him at the library over the years. Until today, that is, which is 13 years later, and he is just as nice as I hoped then he would be.
I was having an ugh day so I complimented 3 strangers to make them smile. It helped me smile.
I talked to my almost 4 yr old niece over Skype and showed her strawberries, which are her absolute favorite, and she informed me I needed to get on a plane right away, go over the ocean, over the mountains and the trees and come to her house so she could share the berries with her younger brother.
If you'll accept them, I'm sending you hugs.

Hope you'll feel better soon!
I don't have any wonderful things to tell I'm afraid, but I went out with friend last night and we ended up in a Portuguese restaurant last night. It was very yummy! Indulge in some comfort food if possible! *hugs again*

Also? Said friend made me think of you yesterday. She posted a pic of polar bears and guess who I ended up missing/thinking of? hint hint hint SGA and one of your fics! *coughs* It was totally random and made me remember why I liked that fandom so much.

Good things in my world are house-hunting with my sweetie, who against all reasonable arguments is moving a thousand miles to be with me (I'm moving three thousand miles, it's going to be an epic summer.) We were gone for a long weekend in the New City, and his cat did not stop cuddling or meowing at him for two days when he got home. Until the cat food ran out and Otis (the cat) missed a meal, and then he did not stop reproachfully meowing until E provided him with appropriate food (which is he *only job* as the human! Does he not know this? The food bowl is empty and it has been ALL DAY, HUMAN,) which was really funny to hear over the phone line. Yesterday was the first day in which the cat was quiet, just curled up on E's lap whenever possible, and not too bothered by anything in particular. That must have been a pretty contented day for the cat.

I hope whatever happened can be lessened, dealt with, erased, or lived with. Please talk if you want, but if not, it's okay.
And this always makes me smile.....
