I keep announcing that I'm back and then disappearing again huh?
The Bad:
I've wrenched my shoulder and the past two weeks I've just been trying to function and get through the days and being upright and at a computer is proving challenging. I've been going to work but a couple of times my boss sent me home because she couldn't watch me suffer anymore.
So, anything writing-wise is late. I've got two more free-for-all stories almost done but they're basically sitting where they were a couple of weeks ago which makes me a sad panda. My sweet charity fic is about one section away from being postable. (My beta sent it back to me saying very nicely how I'd switched tenses halfway through and to avoid being beaten to death I could fix it myself). I've made a start on the Apoca Big Bang fic which just happens to be something that was originally for free-for-all as well.
The Good:
- New Boooooones is on DVD (well, s4 is new for me) and I am inhaling it and I love it to itty bitty pieces and can't believe I didn't really bother with it when it started. Just like some other show with these brothers that I'm sure you've all heard of...
- I'm sure I'm tempting mass-defriendings by admitting this but, I went to a midnight screening of New Moon with some friends from work and I really do like Twilight. I don't think it's well written or original by any means but y'know, mostly we eat stuff that's good for us but sometimes we just want a freakin' cheeseburger and Twilight is my brain's cheeseburger.
I liked this. Basically give me werewolves and vampires, especially werewolves and vampires rather ticked at each other and I'm a happy girl.
It didn't hurt that I heard this weird, rushing noise every time that Taylor boy and his PECS OF DOOM were on screen. I mean, I was in a Gold Class cinema which is licensed so most of the women were (a good deal) out of the teenagerhood and yet when he took his shirt off the first time there was this collective gasp-y sigh, and then more awesomely, we all laughed at ourselves en masse and the few men in the audience who had been dragged by girlfriends (you could pick 'em!) were contemplating drowning themselves in their own frozen cokes.
(Sidenote, we were going past this group of women and one guy on the way in and the guy was taking a picture of them and my friend asked if he wanted one of us to take the picture instead. He kind of looked aghast and shook his head vehemently. I said to him, you just don't want hard evidence that you were ever here, right and he said, er, yes, pretty much).
And I didn't realise that Aro was Lucien from Underworld until I was out of the cinema and wondering aloud where I knew him from.
