I wonder if the same can be said as the whole if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound thing.

Basically, does a person fall on their ass if there is no one around to see it?

I fell, ON MY ASS, in front of my senior manager and another senior manager, and I didn't even fall off/over/through anything. I just went from vertical to ON MY ASS with no apparent cause.

My Senior Manager: Um, are you okay?
Me: Yeah, I'm fine.
MSM: (Trying valiantly not to laugh) I'm sorry, but did you just fall off your shoes?
Me: Yeah... I... pretty much.

My supervisor tried to sit back down on his chair in his office once, and completely missed it and ended up on the floor. These things happen.
