Summary: Aliens made them do it... or at least, they were supposed to.

_minxy_ who managed to kickstart my brain.
The Stargate shut off behind them with the familiar kawhoosh and John and Rodney stumbled down the small inclined floor, Teyla and Ronon right behind.
“What the hell was that?” John was demanding. His belt was unbuckled, his jacket inside out and his hair more mussed than usual. Rodney was in a similar state of disarray and both men stopped when they realised that possibly the whole of Atlantis was jammed into the gate room.
Elizabeth was standing off to one side, hand up to her mouth and John was infuriated to realise she was smirking.
“We nearly… there was almost… death!” Rodney exclaimed breathlessly.
John, who’d noticed his jacket was inside out, was yanking it off with angry jerks and strode up to Elizabeth.
“What happened?” he growled, his voice pitched low. Rodney was at his elbow, Teyla and Ronon keeping a respectful distance. The gathered scientists and marines in the room melted away as well, as if by magic.
“Ah, yes. It seems we had a bit of a mix up with the mission roster,” Elizabeth said, her tone serious but her eyes dancing.
“How?” John asked slowly, just daring Elizabeth to actually laugh.
“It seems you got the brief for M5X-797 and not M3R-252.”
“So there wasn’t supposed to be…?” Rodney sighed.
“A fertility ritual? Not, not as such. M3R-252 is a puritanical society where even showing too much skin is taboo.”
“So, that would explain the whole village chasing after us and pelting us with rocks and screaming about how we’d desecrated their temple?” Rodney hazarded.
“Yep, that would about sum it up.”
John slapped a hand to his forehead, rubbing firmly. “That was a pretty unpleasant surprise,” John sighed.
Elizabeth ducked her head just as the event horizon engaged again and another team came through. John turned and watched, mystified as first Lorne and Parrish hustled through, followed by the other two of their team mates. Lorne and Parrish looked at each other, both flushed scarlet and then hurried off in opposite directions as fast as they could go.
“You think you had it bad?” Elizabeth prodded.
