I'd been avoiding ficathons for a little while because I'm just not writing as much at the moment, but finishing my sweet charity fics has urged me to put fingers to keyboard again and I'm feeling good about the craft at the moment...

I've signed up for three...

[livejournal.com profile] gateverse_remix - Remix ficathon where you remix another author's work from either SG-1 or SGA.

[livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen - Gen SPN fic exchange - I *just* squeaked into this one.

[livejournal.com profile] apocalyptothon - The hardest ficathon to spell! A multifandom apocafic exchange. I like *two* of my prompts I received so I might write both if I have time...

In RL news -

The Bad

-> My car is still dead - the mechanics say another three weeks. I'm currently in a rent-a-wreck because my insurance-covered rental ran out. It's... interesting. Heh.

The Good

-> We have a new kitten in the household. She is a completely sweet 5 month old tortoishell that was abandoned. (Grrrr!) Her name is Sammy (we named her because when she was found she had neither address on her collar nor was chipped) or alternatively Batcat because she has a black mask over her eyes and ears. She's currently sleeping with her paws pressed into my leg.

First off, yay for the signage! Just means more for us to read, yes? *peers hopefully* Secondly, too bad about your car....not having a car must totally suck. And finally, that's too cool about you adopting a new cat, especially since she's five months old so she's probably out of that stage. You know, the bite-everything-especially-hands stage? Or am I a special case cause I adopted a two-month old kitten and he's completely evil. My evil demon baby. :P Congrats on your new baby! *pets my baby who's sitting on my lap and watching my hands type*

We must both me special. I adopted my kitty when he was nine weeks old and I had to train him not to bite when he played. I think that's what happens when you get kittens under three months--they aren't properly socialized yet.

5 months is a good age for kitties! Congrats!

Thankyou!

Yes, she's completely sweet and understands the difference between hands and toys... most of the time... hehehee...!

I have surprisingly little in the scratch department for a new kitty and if she does accidentally catch you she tends to look so mortified about it that you can't hold it against her... :)
