I usually don't do episode reactions, but wow did I ever love this.

On vampires. There was so much that was just damn interesting about this. I think I saw [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster refer to the vampires as being... de-glamorised I think and I loved that way of putting it. How many tv shows/movies have we seen where people are turned into vampires and suddenly they're like... ninjas or something.

C'mon, what??

I like Gordon being overwhelmed and flaily and I loved Lucy and how she felt like she was on a high and couldn't come down. It would be overwhelming and scary and terrible, especially if you didn't know what was going on.

I just want to come down...

On vamp-o-vision. I don't know why but the way they did this just really appealed to me. Seeing Sam this way, through a haze of red, all angles and shadow... you couldn't see his eyes. Sam's last line of defense, his Hail Mary. Very nicely done.

On Gordon. I didn't enjoy him at all in the last ep he was in. I felt like he was more of a caricature of himself but wow was he excellent in this. He took being a monster as justification for doing horrible things, because if he admitted that he had any kind of choice then he would've been wrong all along... would've been wrong for killing his sister. He couldn't live in a world where vampires like Lenore existed. It just didn't fit into his world view.

On the boys. My love knows no bounds, and while there has been much flailing for the Sammich, laying down his heart and Dean just crumpling, giving in to him because he can do nothing but, it was the END scene that really got me.

In the simple action of teaching Sam to fix the Impala, Dean was both trying to mend their relationship and also ask Sam to accept that maybe, quite possibly, at the end of the year he was going to lose him. That he had to make peace with that.

You're going to need to know these things for the future...

That scene at the end, when they *finally* started reconnecting, just killed me. All I could see was a growing rift. I'm glad Sam finally called Dean out on it!

I love this show!

It was hard to watch Dean putting up walls but Sammy is always going to be there to tear them down... :)
