- Sam knew that Dean would never stop, never give up, as long as he was alive and there was the barest chance. Dean would get himself and anyone else that got in his way killed trying to save him. So Sam saved Dean, giving the very last shreds that were really and truly still him to do it.

The only way he could.

- The only other person he couldn't pull the trigger on was Bobby, and he had the chance. Bobby at his feet, cracked ribs, eyes swollen shut and still saying the words, the Latin that was supposed to banish the monster from within him. Only... there was no monster inside.

Apart from him.

- Sam still goes to church. He stands outside and listens to the hymns.

Sam loves Dean always! I love that Sam is still, at least a tiny bit, Sam.
