I feel a bit whimpy lamenting the cold here considering I'm in Sydney and the coldest it's been is about 6 degrees Celcius (I can't be buggered finding out the conversion... heh). Lord knows I won't survive if I had to ever go somewhere like Canada in the dead of winter...

I'm scrolling through the flist but it's like dodging mines at the moment. Yes, I have my copy of Harry Potter but I'm reading it... like a normal book? I'm kinda depressed that I feel like maybe I should be pegging my eyes open with toothpicks to get it finished because while people have been good about spoiler cuts up till this point... I certainly feel like there are cracks in the proverbial dam. Please for the love of god don't put spoilers in your usericons... give those of us who are not reading it in one massive lump have a chance to enjoy it...

I want to savour it because it's the last one... am I crazy?

So, lots of fabulous sign ups for [livejournal.com profile] reel_sg1 I'm still torn myself. I've narrowed it down to either The Bourne Identity or Raising Helen. There was an overwhelming push for whatever I wrote to be Cam/Daniel so it will be written as that but... argh... thoughts?

The Bourne Identity - Cameron as an amnesiac super sekrit spy who picks up drifter Daniel Jackson outside the American consulate?

Raising Helen - Cameron Mitchell has to look after his sister's kids after a tradgedy and finds love with gentle languages teacher Daniel?

Decisions... decisions!

The Raising Helen one could be really interesting if you set Cam abroad and have to transition him into family housing, and Daniel is teaching at the American School on base. But I'd have trouble with the idea that Cam wouldn't be a bit of a natural with kids, so you'd have to play the overwhelmed and scared and mourning card.

The Bourne Identity could fit very, very nicely. Especially if you let them be a little younger and Daniel was just post his departure from academia.

also totally meant to add:

DUDE COME VISIT ME. It is never cold here, except when the sun goes down and you're still hanging out on the beach and too far from the bonfire. Srsly.

Also, I don't even have the book yet, so you aren't alone. (Woe for being too busy to even get to a bookstore! I ordered it to be shipped from my favorite independant bookseller in my old city, but they required a signature and I wasn't home at all on Saturday. Woe!)

Hahaaa... :) Well, I'm in Sydney so we *usually* don't get much cold weather... it wasn't this cold last year.

We should totally plan a swap or something... I come to you for like two weeks and then you travel back and stay with me...!!
