I like having the television on while I'm doing other stuff, even if it's muted. I had one of the cable music channels on muted and I glanced up in the midst of making Rudolph cupcakes and they had on a One Direction documentary thingie. I put the volume on because one of the members (forgive me the peeps on my flist who actually know who the individual members are, I have no idea! I think I'm doing pretty well recognising that they are One Direction) was holding a picture of himself published in one of those teen magazines and he was obviously pretty surprised that they'd air-brushed his moles out.

Their fans know what these boys look like. From what I can tell, their fans seem to be pretty passionate so I can imagine all their fangirls know exactly what they look like, including the location of each and every mole and yet some magazine/photo editor still felt compelled to remove one of this boy's features. Sure, airbrush out a zit or whatever, I'm sure they'd appreciate that, but a fairly prominent mole he was born with?

I know this happens to basically every person that's appeared in a magazine EVER but it just seems so ludicrous to me. We are who we are, moles, bingo wings, unfortunate hair lines and all.
