-> Just a reminder that if you want podfic for Xmas let me know! I'm also thinking (if I can figure out how) of making a podbook of all the requests.

-> I might have to pull out of the Avengers Xmas exchange. It's due on the 7th and I keep opening the email with the prompts, staring at them and then backing away hopelessly. I've never been this stumped before. I don't think I've ever dropped out of an exchange before so I might just sit down this weekend and try to squeeze something out of my brain but it's not cooperating at the moment.

-> Sometimes stories just start up in my head and it doesn't feel like I'm writing them. It's like they're unfurling and I wasn't even thinking about them. I owe the ever-patient and awesome [livejournal.com profile] laria_gwyn fic of the Clint/Darcy variety and I hadn't started it but just yesterday morning it started writing itself in my head and it felt like I was transcribing it. Does that ever happen to anyone else? Is there little fic clouds blobbing about and I just happened to walk through one yesterday like a cobweb? It's the oddest thing!

Peter's got the questionable banana cake stuffed in his cheeks when he says, "Some dude has been staring at us for about ten minutes like he's imagining squishing my head like a grape."

Darcy looks over her shoulder and sees that it's Clint. "Don't worry, that's his default expression," she says, dismissive.

"Seriously. Is he like your dad or something?"

Darcy nearly snorts soda out of her nose. "Uh, no. That's Hawkeye."

"The guy with the-?" Peter mimes a bow and arrow.

"Uhuh, that's him."

Peter looks hilariously mortified for a moment. "Oh god, is he your boyfriend? I'm so sorry about asking if he was your dad first if that's the case."

-> I have a long weekend this weekend so am planning to try and make a dent in the podfics. Will have to tell the flatmates that no, I'm not just talking to myself in my room.

Fic doesn't happen like a transcription, but like a movie. I see what's going on in my head like an awesomely edited fanvid, and when i start laying out the action, the dialogue and whatnot just flows from it.

*pines*

I had to drop out of something last year - it sucked.
*pets you*

It just sometimes feels like I'm not even controlling it. I think I remember it most clearly from my Snuffleupagus story where all through the writing of it, Sam was having these imaginary friends and then WHAM out of nowhere Sam IS the imaginary friend and I didn't even know I was writing that!

Meep. I'm going to try my damndest to get something done but I'm also wary of cobbling something together that ISN'T GOOD for my poor recipient.

I did a podbook sort of thing for a challenge I co-modded, so if it's anything like you have in mind, I can share the code with you.

Oh! I will definitely check that out and most likely be taking you up on that! :D

Heehee now I am curious, is hawkeye jealous? or a protective sort of dad?

Hee... I think he would be horrified to be called ANY sort of dad where Darcy is concerned. :D

LOVE. I want to read more of this so bad! It's hilarious. :-)
