20 things about Supernatural that I hold to be my own personal canon.
1. One of the brothers made a crack about hugging being girly (neither of them can remember who said it) just the one time and that's why they don't. They both want to.
2. Sam was touch-starved and would constantly want to have a hand on Jess. She asked him about it once and he hadn't even realised. He stopped because he was now conscious of it and she regretted ever bringing it up.
3. Dean always orders more than he can eat because he knows Sam will order less.
4. Dean has been putting away money in a safety deposit box ever since he went back for Sam. He was planning on handing it over the day he drove Sam back to Stanford. It was going to be enough for a small apartment with two bedrooms.
5. Sam found the key and the bank's adddress when he was going through the wrecked Impala. He used the money to pay for Dean and John's medical expenses after the accident.
6. Dean wasn't planned or expected and being pregnant scared Mary to death.
7. Mary was three months pregnant on her wedding day.
8. No matter how bad it gets, Dean still thinks there will be some way out for Sam. He knows that he, on the other hand, is royally screwed.
9. Jess would've said yes.
10. John left Dean and Sam at Pastor Jim's two years after Mary's death and didn't plan on coming back. A month after he left them, driving half-asleep he realised he was pointed in their direction. When he saw them again he wondered what the hell he'd been thinking.
11. Sam was upset the day he realised he was taller than Dean. He called Dean shortass to hide it. He wanted to keep looking up at Dean because that just seemed the way it should always be.
12. The hand-me-downs stopped when Sam was fifteen. Dean threw a fit when he wore through his last pair of jeans and John expected him to wear Sam's.
13. John was proud that Sam had made it into Stanford but he didn't know how to show it. He is fully aware that he may have done it badly.
14. Dean got accepted to three colleges but he never told Sam or John that.
15. Jess and Dean would have argued constantly but still would've thought the world of each other.
16. Sam works out to extremes because he was teased at school for being the fat kid. He never understood how Dean could eat whatever he wanted and never gain a pound.
17. John saw himself in Sam and that, more than anything, terrified him.
18. John saw Mary in Dean and that, more than anything, reassured him.
19. They would actually die for each other. They're not just saying that.
20. Dean doesn't expect to see forty. Sam is going to make damn sure that he does.

1. Sam still holds her breath everytime she goes through the 'gate. She knows way too much about the science behind it to be as comfortable with the whole thing as she pretends to be. She accepts that sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.
2. Teal'c believes that somewhere deep down, Daniel has never forgiven him for what he is. He finds it an incredible testament to Daniel's character that he accepts and works with Teal'c despite this.
3. On the anniversary of Charlie's death every year, Daniel turns up to Jack's place with beer, pizza and the dumbest action movies he can find. Washington was a little further away but he still made it. There was only one year he didn't but Jack suspects that Daniel was still there, in his own way.
4. Jack keeps expecting someone to tell him that the whole "General" thing was a mistake.
5. Mitchell still had a bit of a man-crush on Daniel. He's not gay, but he *really* isn't sure what he'd do if Daniel ever propositioned him.
6. Sam is Vala's first female friend.
7. Daniel did have abusive foster parents, but he had ones he loved aswell. He even hoped that a couple in Texas would adopt him but his foster mother got sick and he was moved again.
8. Teal'c still doesn't one hundred percent trust Tretonin. He keeps expecting it to fail.
9. Daniel sometimes doesn't know what the hell the villagers are talking about. Sometimes, very rarely mind, he's totally faking it.
10. Sam was genuinely sad to see Rodney McKay go. Sometimes it's hard being the only one with all the answers.
11. Jack completely wings it. ALOT.
12. Mitchell brought in team video night, not only to get closer to SG-1 but also because he could see the others were drifting apart.
13. Sam and Daniel have slept together, exactly twice. They never talk about it but neither is it awkward. They both know it was something they needed at the time and leave it at that.
14. Janet Frasier wasn't supposed to be in the Mountain that day. She swapped shifts.
15. Cassie hardly remembers her homeworld and it's hard sometimes to remember that she's not from Earth.
16. Mitchell is still waiting for Aliens to make them do it because, you know, that wouldn't be completely terrible.
17. Teal'c prays. He's not sure who is out there to hear him but he's hoping that someone is.
18. Daniel doesn't. He's pretty much had the faith beaten out of him.
19. Jack gets an update from Vala each week on how everyone is going. He trusts her to not gloss over anything bad. He can't say the same for the others.
20. Before his second time through the 'gate, Jack pictured retirement in Abydos.

And for some reason this one--Sam is Vala's first female friend--totally has me flailing with its perfectness! I've been a sucker for Sam and Vala friendship since they were finally on the show at the same time, but for some reason I've always thought of it in terms of Sam not being naturally good at having girlfriends. But it's so logical that Vala wouldn't have done the girlfriend thing, either, and there should totally be fic.

I have a bunny for you: During SG1's Window Of Opportunity, 'reality' reset itself every...what was it, ten hours? What if John & the boys were somehow magically exempt from the reset like Jack & Teal'c, and John was tearing his hair out trying to figure out what was going on?? :)

Gah, I'm such a dork. Clear as mud, wasn't it? :) What I meant was John Winchester and the then-teenage Sam & Dean being somehow exempt from the reality-reset from WoO like Jack & Teal'c were. I can see John go a little nuts trying to figure out what the hell was causing it, and I can see Sam and Dean wreaking havoc as only teenage boys know how to do. What if they were in/near Disneyland? What if they were moments from certain death? The possibilities are endless. :)
