-> I've signed up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas. I've done this challenge every year so thought, what the hell. Hopefully the mods won't be too annoyed that I've basically had to put a nothing-past-season-5 caveat on my sign up because I have honestly not really seen past that. I keep meaning to watch it, I have the S6 DVDs and I will purchase the S7 ones but I'm just... I don't know. It's kinda like I've never actually watched the last season of Atlantis.

-> I finished my [livejournal.com profile] avengersfest fic so I'm a month and a half early. Woo! That's really unusual for me. I, on the other hand, have decided I don't like what I'm writing for [livejournal.com profile] goingonfacebook and might have to start again which is NOT GOOD because the due date for that one is September 26th. OH NOES! I might have to re-look at the prompts and then marathon it this weekend.

-> There is an [livejournal.com profile] aaron_marta comm now. Yay!

-> I have this weird thing where I've been thinking lately that I miss having pen pals. You know, like the snail mail kind where you'd write a letter, then the other person would write you and it would mean that you would get something in the mail OTHER THAN BILLS. It was always exciting getting that letter.

-> I had this weird dream where I lost my job so I had to work as a waittress because I couldn't get anything else (??) but what was super odd was that this was during a zombie apocalypse so every now and again we'd get trapped or have to fight zombies but I wouldn't be worrying about the zombies as much as the job thing. DREAM PRIORITIES ARE STRANGE. I also think I had psychic powers but they were a bit lame. How come I can't be super powered in a dream, I gotta have the half-assed power. Bah!

-> Recs list tonight!

I failed to prioritise and got the story done for something NOT DUE FOR AGES and am flailing about the story DUE IN A WEEK. Argh!

I'm with you on the pen pal thing. I have one friend and my godmother who I almost exclusively converse through snail mail even though we all have email, etc. It kind of makes the relationship more tangible, if that makes sense. And, like you, I adore getting something fun in my mailbox every once in a while.

I was jealous of my flatmate who had befriended a guy in the US (we're Australian) and they were trading care packages for ages and they were always hilarious and awesome (and full of peeps!) Of course, he's now living with us and they're married which means the care packages were long distance seduction. Hee!

I'n in the US and would happily become penpals with you. and I would gladly send you boatloads of Peeps, especially if the resulting sugar high helped you to write even more awesome fic. (Yes, I am giving and selfish in the same breath...)

Honestly, I don't know how interesting I am, but I love sending/receiving cards and letters. I tend to sned random anonymous postcards to friends (sometimes in fandom character), because I love to bring a smile to their faces, even if I'm not there to see it.

Aw, that would be awesome hon! Send me a message with your address! I will send you caramello koalas and Tim Tams! I am overusing exclamation points!!!

Fandom character postcards!! \o/

"I miss having pen pals"

So, in an absolutely not-creepy way at all, would you like to be pen pals?

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Hang on, where are you? Your journal header is Sydney which is where I live... it would be typical of me to start writing to someone down the street... or are you in the US? :D

From: [identity profile] noxelementalist.livejournal.com

I'm in the US- greensboro, nc to be exact. I have the Sydney header, in all honesty, becuase it's one of the few places that i want to see but still haven't ^^'

Oh yay! Send me a message with your addy! Funsies!!

It's where I live. :D I love it, especially coming in to Summer. Walking along the harbour at night with music on the air and the bridge and opera house as your background is amazing. I did rollerskating lessons under the bridge. :D

I desperately wanted a pen pal as a kid, never had one. Dunno why.

I await your fic with giddy anticipation.

As always.

I remember this major girl's magazine (Dolly, it's still around here, is probably equivalent to 16 magazine in the US - is that what it's called??) when I was like, 13/14 and there was a penpal section and it basically had people asking for penpals and GAVE THEIR REAL ADDRESSES (ah, a simpler time, more innocent, less stalky!) and I tried to get into the magazine because apparently these people would get a FLOOD of letters, but I also wrote to a few people that seemed interesting and ended up having a couple of penpals from that for years.

Yes! I never got that magazine, but i got a horse magazine that had the same thing. People's addresses! Right there!!!

I should have written, but i never did. Silly me.

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Nawwww... I remember writing to ALOT of them and I only ever got a couple of replies. It was like the people who got into the magazine could pick and choose who they wrote to because they got heaps of responses and I SO WANTED TO BE IN THE MAGAZINE!! :D

I doooo... all I get are bills. I want letters and care packages and peeps. :(

A couple years back I did a LJ-IRL gift exchange that was me sending candy to A, A sending to B, C sending to me. It wasn't penpals so much as daisy chain letter but I remember being sad the comm was quiet the next year.
