Mayhaps telepathy is a natural progression of the serum, one that Steve DOES NOT WANT because he keeps hearing stuff he doesn't want to, including Tony's self-doubt and Howard-instilled insecurities but Steve doesn't know how to address them without alerting everyone to this new development which he doesn't want to do because he can't handle all these new, wonderful people pulling away from him.

He likes being around Bruce when he's Hulk the best because Hulk's thought processes are the simplest. SMASH, SMASH, PAUSE, SMASH.

Poor Steve. I think telepathy would be hardest on him because eavesdropping is just so rude. Listening to other people's thoughts is just embarrassing, both for him and for them.

I think Natasha would also be pretty safe because she would think in Russian when she was around him. :D Steve would resist the urge to look up the words she thinks about Tony.
