Clint's act at the circus was "telling people's futures" but it was really that he could skim their minds, tell them what they wanted to hear and SHIELD recruits him for interrogation and retrieval. Coulson can block him out and Clint has no idea why and he really wants to know what Coulson is thinking even though usually he avoids that because it's COULSON.
