-> [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang needs more artists for the few orphan stories left over. They're pretty open to what they'll take for art so if you're at all interested, head on over and scoop up what's left!

-> Okay, fine. I give up. I can't fight you anymore. I am officially incepted into this damn TW fandom where I even uploaded icons (by [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis) and will have fic recs in a little bit. It's just... werewolves and bonding and pack-ness... basically they've got all my weaknesses tied up in a pretty little show that I tried to stay away from. If they had've had werewolf brothers then I would've been doomed much earlier. Werewolves are my fave, yo. I think I've written a werewolf AU in every fandom I've ever written in. Honestly, I was completely eyeroll when I first heard about SPN so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm even... writing fic.

The jeep dies about five minutes away from Derek's house, which is a good twenty minute walk for Stiles through the slush with delusions of snow. It's the forest at night which isn't ideal, but Stiles knows if something came at him, Derek would probably hear his not at all girlish thanks Scott, shut your face, screams for help and come running.

In theory.

What Stiles isn't expecting is for Derek to be the thing that comes at him, barrelling out of the forest like a furry freight train and knocking Stiles on his ass.

"Um, ow," Stiles groans, rolling over. Derek has skidded to a halt a few feet away, bouncing on his toes and doing something that sounds like chuckling to himself but couldn't be because it's Derek who doesn't do any such thing.

"You need to be more aware-"

"Of my surroundings, yada, yada," Stiles interrupts, making a talky-talky hand in the direction Derek's voice came from. He can't see Derek, being flat on his back facing the sky like he is. The slush is seeping through his jeans and it's not pleasant. "I'm not one of your puppies."

I've basically been reading just off [livejournal.com profile] blue_meridian's recs because I don't really have time to find stuff for myself.

But it helped that I was struck down with flu last week and had nothing to do but lie around and read fic.

ALOT OF FIC, HOMG. And yet, I think I've barely made a dent.

I've been using [livejournal.com profile] blue_meridian's recs as a jumping off point, then I went into the deep end of the pool and started perusing AO3's fic that's complete.

Though I'm getting a bit perturbed that there's a lot of "complete" stuff out there that really isn't. They're writing a series, which is fine, but a lot of the individual bits don't stand alone, which leaves me feeling not completeness.

The ability to save stuff off AO3 and send it to my Kindle is a good/bad thing. Still not made a dent in all the fic I've got on it, yet I keep adding more.

I triiiiiied finding my own, but everything I clicked on I got through about the first few paragraphs and had to ugh my way out of it. Plus YES, so many WIPS.

I've subscribed to some of the people where I've liked their stuff but haven't really tried to actively find anything for a while.

I'm finding it a lot easier to have a filter in the form of another person... hee!

I don't think they realize they're writing WIPs. I think what they're doing is closer to a serialized story (which is actually a thing in e-books now), in which each "book" is essentially self-contained for the most part, but it's still ongoing and part of the story will be resolved later.

From their POV, they've written chapters and are finished with this bit, so time to check the "complete" box. I don't mind it if an author decides later to write a sequel, but I like knowing going in if a series is complete or if there will be more installments. I hate delving into a story, no matter how good it is (maybe even more if it's good) then discovering the story isn't finished and who knows when it will be.

It's such a PITA to find fic in a new fandom. Or even just to find a good place to go for your fandom fix. The process is often a lot like this...

ETA: Grr... Photobucket's acting assy at the moment. Just click to see what's it's like to delve into a new fandom.

Do you know how long it took me to work out what PITA was??? I think my brain is not working today!

I knoooooow! I'm actually lucky that a bunch of peeps on my flist have started writing TW fic so I'm pretty much sticking to that or [livejournal.com profile] blue_meridian's recs and am finding that I have too much to read as a result. :D
