-> My flatmates are taking me to see Prometheus for my birthday in Gold Class on Sunday night. I am MAJORLY excited because the Alien movies are just... I think they were really the first scifi I was exposed to, they were the Star Wars of my youth and HICKS♥, possibly one of my favourite characters ever still to this day. He picks up Newt and puts her on the schematic table because she can't see! DIES!!

I'm not sure what will be prettier in this movie, the ships or Michael Fassbender's cheek bones.

-> Doom!hand is slooooowly coming back. It's now upgraded to slightlypeeved!hand. Your dominant hand is supposed to be 10% stronger than your non-dominant and currently my right is at 60% LESS, argh. No wonder I can't staple with it.

-> I have SO MUCH stuff I should be working on at the moment, and instead I'm writing a 'woke up married' fill for my cliche table. Working on my [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang got me in the mood for oblivious!Tony/oblivious!Steeeeve fic. I've been all about the Darcy/Clint, Clint/Coulson fic lately, needs to return to my roots, yo.

No wonder I can't staple with it.

Stapling is hard! I have this ligament thing in my right hand, and stapling exacerbates it majorly--or, if it's already bad, I can't do it the normal way at all. I do quite a bit of stapling in my job, so I've had to make stapling by pushing down on the top of the stapler my normal method instead of picking up the stapler and squeezing it. I know it's a small thing, but it's annoying. I'm glad your hand is improving!

Ugh, so annoying! My left hand has to help my right out. >:/ I've only just been allowed to start strength exercises this week though so hopefully it will start to come back. It's weird how the muscle on my right hand just collapsed completely in such a short time!

Glad to hear your hand is improving - the staple scale is easier to understand than some sort of grip test!

I saw Prometheus last week - it is visually awesome (and you are right about Mr Fassbender's engaging cheekbones). I look forward to hearing what you think of it!

Heh, I had to do the grip test but I'll know how much I'm improving when I can staple! :D

I hope it's goooood. *chews fists*

Oh, Alien. We went over to a friend's house last night to watch 'Alien' in preparation for going to see 'Prometheus' tonight. My dad took my sis and me to see 'Alien' when it first came out - omg, terrifying!

'Alien', 'Star Wars', and 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' were my 'sci-fi firsts' when i was a kid, and definitely have stuck with me. So very, *very* cool.

My wrist problems are permanent so I bought a One Touch Stapler from Staples. A real godsend. They have come down in price, I think about $16 now.

Absolutely. I saw Aliens first (that I remember - apparently my dad took us to a drive through when we were VERY small and the only part I emerged for was the chest-bursting scene and IMMEDIATELY hid back in the backseat) so I have a special affection for it.

Well, i was 12, so i wasn't as traumatized as i could be. On the way home, we stopped at the end of our drive - long drive, out in the country - and my dad asked my sis to hop out and get the paper from the box. So she does, and all of a sudden he's going 'watch out for the alien!!'

Omg. We both screamed, my sis started to cry - man. He felt kinda bad but still chuckled about it. We got over it. :)
