So, was having an extreme case of the blank screens for my S/D fic. (Sam/Daniel as opposed to Sam/Dean... heh)

Now I've had two simulataneous ideas and I can't pick which one to go with. *hands*

For one of them, I have an extremely poorly phrased question. Does anyone know if there was a name for that substance excreted by that guy that made people see a person the way they wanted to see them. (The freaky looking alien pretended to be a member of SG-1...)

They used it again in a ring and I can't remember *either* episode. A shiny drabble for whoever can solve my question. (Yes, I tried writing that out a couple of times and I still come out sounding about as vague).

My evil Sam fic (SPN) for [livejournal.com profile] sevenfists -thon is going like gangbusters though... Hurrah! I'm looking forward to all of the stories however I suspect I will be in a very wee!minority by writing a gen piece. (There may be a shower scene with Dean naked and Sam clothed but I can't even make that slashy... ha!) I'm also starting to get a little weirded out with myself and my need to write stories in Dean POV even though I was a Sam girl from the start. I just... can't explain it.

Bobby sounds surprised to hear his voice and that, more than anything, gives Dean pause.

“I thought he would have brought me to you first,” Dean says when Bobby recovers enough to actually get that its Dean he’s talking to.

“He did,” Bobby says and in his interminable way, not willing to elaborate unless Dean flat out asks.

“What’s the problem then?”

“I couldn’t help,” Bobby says and it sinks in that the older man sounds truly shaken.

“Bobby, what-?”

“You go and ask Sam just exactly what he did because I can guarantee that it wasn’t good. I want you boys here now and I mean yesterday.”

Bobby hangs up on him and Dean looks towards the door of the motel room and sees Sam standing there with what would probably be dinner. He’s still got the gloves on and Dean narrows his eyes.

“Something you want to tell me?” Dean asks.

“I found a way. That’s all that matters,” Sam snaps, going from zero to angry faster than Dean has ever seen him, even with dad. Sam’s fury was always a slow burn until he snapped and it worries Dean that he’s got the brakes off all of a sudden.

“Last time you found a way some poor kid died instead of me,” Dean growls, not meaning to hit so low but he’s suddenly terrified. It’s something that’s been festering between them for a while. He’d shot a guy in the head when he thought Sam was in danger and he hadn’t regretted it for a moment but knowing Sam had done the same, somehow that wasn’t acceptable in Dean’s world view. He was trying to shield Sam from that and he wasn’t doing a very good job of it.

He wanted Sam torn and conflicted because if he ever saw the same blankness in Sam’s eyes he sometimes saw in his own in the mirror, he’d know that he’d truly failed.

That's okay - I'm patient. (Well, okay, I'm totally not, but I can try).

Yippee!

Since you're already working on a S/D thing, how about a Vala/Teal'c snippet?

Sorry this took a while... :D

He tells her about Jonas sometimes and how he would talk about them being outsiders.

“I don’t feel that way,” he says. “These people feel like my own.”

“You’re lucky,” she replies. “I get what this Jonas of yours meant.”

She’s serious in a way with him that she never is with the others. He doesn’t need her act, sees through it as easily as through tissue paper. She wonders how he can stand her let alone like her when his life was made intolerable by the false gods that she is a living reminder of.

She likes the way the muscles of her thighs ache afterwards because he is so broad. She likes the way he laughs, full and open only with her. She likes that he’s forgiven her for something she had no control over.

In these strange times, he understands home is what you make it and Teal’c allows Vala to make hers with him.

The extraterrestrial that secreted the chemical was a Reol -- from 'The Fifth Man.' I think they just called the ring the Reol ring, but I'm not sure -- maybe there was a name for the chemical. They used the rings in 'Summit'/'Last Stand' and 'Company of Thieves.' Maybe there's something in those transcripts?
