- Why does LJ decide to be an asshat when I decide to make a concerted effort to catch up on my replies to comments. I've kinda let it slide since 'his own making' response knocked my socks off but I'm getting an error message between each reply, have to hit back and then resubmit and... *hands* I give up. I'm going to give it a few days and try again.

- How do people manage f-lists of 2-300 people?? Or more you crazy cats!! I miss reading my f-list for a day and I'm paging back 160+ and still hitting posts I haven't read. I've deleted some removed journals and some that I was finding myself scrolling through and not reading because our paths have diverged but yikes, you can really get out of control fast.

- I'm feeling a little guilty that my 'friend of' has bypassed my mutual friend list... I figure though a lot of them are reading or lurker journals which I don't mind at all but if you've friended and we interact and I haven't friended you, always feel free to prod me. :) I'm just obviously crapola at keeping up.

- I always seem to miss fandom exploding. *looks around at craters and smoking debris* But I learned something new, I'd had no idea what a BNF was until today. I'll just go back to sticking my head in the sand and chanting lalalala shall I? Heh.

- I like [livejournal.com profile] keepaofthecheez's response to the fandom explosion. Posting pretty pictures is good for the soul. Although, I somtimes would think "Sam's puppy face is kinda overused, it's not *that* cute" but then I saw one of the pictures on the aforementioned post and actually said "Awwww" out loud... Well, it was actually more like "AwwwwwwhatthecrapamIdoing??" Who am I kidding? I've been a sucker for Padalecki-face since Gilmore Girls.

- I need SG-1, SGA and BSG to come out on DVD like now because I got so far behind in my viewing that I'm going to have to settle for watching it when I buy it. (Because lord knows when we'd actually get the shows here or they would play them with any kind of consistancy or before crap o'clock in the freakin' AM!!

Fandom went boom? Again? Why does everything happen when I'm away?

You know, though, I am fascinated by BNFs. As well as that part of any fandom. BNFs generally have a negative connotation to them. While many of can get smug and conceited about their "favored" position, I do believe a lot of bashlash against them is due to jealousy. Though, honestly, some BNFs (not all) really don't help with some of the attitudes displayed. But...human nature. The anthropologist in me can't help but be fascinated by it.

*shrugs* I don't know, it's like anything, it's all opinion and conjecture anyway.

I always find it's just best to stay away.

I can remember reading about BNFdom for the first time (the whole Cassie Claire saga in HP fandom). My first response was WTF??? My next was being grateful that I was surrounded by LJ friends who didn't buy into TEH CRAZEEE. :)

I read about the HP saga. I don't think anything can top that one.

Oh, it's definitely best to stay away. I've become less and less involved in fandoms for quite some time now. I'm just mostly joking ;) The only aspect that makes me curoius is the how and why and that's basically from a anthropological viewpoint. But you're right--better to stay out of the fray. Sucks the fun right out.
