So, I've gotten ridiculously attached to my BSG/SG-1 crossover 'verse (tentatively called Earth In The Middle until I can think of something better) in a very short amount of time. Adama and Jack playing chess, Daniel swanning onto Colonial One in a suit and Vala talking her way onto Galactica to keep an eye on Daniel because she thinks Laura is getting too 'handsey' but takes time out to beat Helo and Lee at cards.

--

“Tell me the Integration talks have moved forward or I’m really going to have to land Colonial One on top of your White House,” she said with a quirk of the lip that Daniel had come to recognise. It meant that she was only half-joking.

“I’d call it less forward and more sideways,” Daniel said and Laura threw up her hands.

“Honestly,” she snapped. “If I could just go down there.”

“I know. I’m working on that too.”

“I’m trying not to be insulted but it’s getting increasingly difficult.” Laura skirted behind her desk, waving off the aide who retreated, still writing. As she sat, she pulled her diary to herself and opened it. “Unfortunately there’s no real way to reassure your Officials that I’m not a Cylon.”

“There lies the problem.”

“Other than the fact that I’m not,” Laura said, pulling a pen free and making a notation. “I just can’t believe-”

“You do see why they’re being cautious don’t you?” Daniel asked mildly.

“What? Fairly low-ranking politician suddenly elevated to the post of President of the Twelve Colonies because she happens to be the only one to survive? No, not at all.” Daniel was relieved to see Laura smiling. He got a little worried when she was determined. “I just feel I could do more onworld.”

“I know. Believe me, I know.”

But that got me to thinking that there are some wonderful, fully fleshed out 'verses out there. Everyone's read a story that's left them wanting more and then there are those writers that actually create a whole 'nother world and keep writing in it (unless the 'verse has been completed which my first rec has... *sniff*) ... giving us hope.

[livejournal.com profile] surrealphantast created Dorkverse which is the alterna-SG-1 Moebius universe with Jack/Daniel/Sam goodness. The brilliance of this is that they are completely different people, yet Jenn still makes them recognisable as the chracters we love. (The link is to the tagged entries since the website is currently down).

[livejournal.com profile] poisontaster has so many 'verses going that I just... it boggles the mind but probably the first SPN fic I read was set in the Heart 'verse and I was completely in love. This is a sprawling tale spanning years. It's a Sam and Dean that have "figured it out" but you get glances back when they weren't so sure. It's so rich in detail you feel like you could pick it up and look at it from all sides.

[livejournal.com profile] impertinence has just started Z 'verse which is also Sam/Dean but with powers and a world gone mad because of it. *rubs hands in anticipation of more*

So what's your favourite 'verse because I know three is a measly drop in the ocean. :)

well, dork!verse is at my top. i can read that over and over and
never get sick of it.
But, next on the list is The Anunnaki Series Which michelle spins into a huge, OT3 jack/sam/daniel yummy tale that is absolutely spell binding. It continued in the unification series and yes, its finally finished. To me, if you haven't read this yet, you must. She's a fantastic, detailed writer (who really can write smut quite well)
I don't think I can say enough good about either writer.
both series are a must read!

Yay!! I'm thrilled to find out that you're writing more of your BSG/SG1 crossover. This snippet is tantalizing.

Oh, I second the rec for [livejournal.com profile] surrealphantast's Dorkverse. Totally made me an OT3'er for life, or at least with that particular crowd.

OOOH! I've got one for you. Just found this a few weeks ago and could NOT put it down:

An SGA/SG1 crossover series by Martha Wilson. These fics are all great but the dialogue will simply slay you.

And I must have missed the rest of your Earth In The Middle fics, ;cos I've only seen (what I think is) the first one! Will go straight away thus to catch up. :)

One of my all-time favorite 'verses is Peg and Macedon's Voyager 'verse, Talking Stick/Circle (http://members.aol.com/MacedonPg/index.html). It starts around the end of season two and goes AU from there, and it is, by far, so much richer than the show ever became. It's what Voyager could and should have been, and 10 years after reading it for the first time, I still go out and reread it about once a year.

Oh, and I third the rec for [livejournal.com profile] surrealphantast's Dorkverse.

Ok, either your Middle fics are cleverly camoflaged or I'm just more tired than I thought. I can't find them; point me to them, please? :)

OMG, more right now missy. *stomps foot* This is goooood stuff.

Second, no third, or whatever the Dorkverse. Yay. I had some Angel ones from way back, if I could find the links. Stupid computer.

Lets see: AU/verse
This is not Wartime series - Cofax (and a whole slew of apocalyptic AU fic at http://infanity.ficlaundering.com/kaboom/)
Lady S has a verse where Makepeace is a good guy and set: My Guys and it's sequels in it.
Seldear has the Veils of Reality (http://www.users.bigpond.com/seldear/words/fanfic/stargate/veils.htm)
Can't remember who wrote the suicide squad verse which was a Gate/JAG cross.
Pagan Twilight has the entire Tok'Ra Legacy verse.
Angelheart’s Benton Trilogy is AU

Kate98 has a mini SG-1 (including Vala) with clone!Jack set in Eureka http://kate98.livejournal.com/231556.html

I also like danamulder’s Smallville fic set in the Death of Superman Futureverse
Any and all Chlois theory Futureverse fic.

I'd second the recommendation for Martha Wilson's Retrograde series - her Jack and Sheppard are brilliant, and she manages to make good use of all the characters.
