I could really see this being Papa Winchester's reaction - I mean I got so frustrated with him in this, that I wanted to shake him and yell - would it kill you to wait and see if it works before you axe your youngest's head off?
When John's being stubborn, it's almost teeth clenchingly frustrating, and really irritating - you had that perfectly.
There's also a horrible sense of impending doom, because you get the feeling that John really *would* do what he thought was right, and it felt like a race by the end - to see if Dean could help Sam before John got to him.
