*phew*

-> [livejournal.com profile] ucp_ficathon assignments are nearly done... just two people to email me back and I can send them out. Surprisingly (or not so for people... you know, smarter than me) was matching stuff up. I live in a sheltered little alcove of fandom and forget that other people, you know... don't.

-> I bought five seasons of West Wing and it only cost $200. I... am in heaven.

-> Back at work... no rest for the wicked... or the partially evil at least.

-> For the first time ever I have a WIP that I am putting aside to write other things... I usually write from start to finish before engaging in anything else. I'm sliding...

** A question for my lovely flist - > If someone emails you asking for a printable copy of a story... do you send it? Does this happen to you? It's not someone I know but I feel rude just ignoring it...

It happened to me a while ago. I didn't do it because 1) it would have taken way too much time, and 2) too damned annoying. Not like this person couldn't do that for him/herself. So I gave a noncommittal answer which was: Yeah, if I have time, maybe. I know, it was a cop-out. I saved this fic in chapters, so I didn't have a completed copy. So, it guess it depends on how long the story is and how much hassle you want to deal with.

True and yes, because I have it only in chapter form and on three different computers...

i think its weird cause well, why cant they do it themselves? if its a shorter story then maybe, but if not then i wouldnt go through all the trouble.

the sheltered alcoves of fandom are the best places to be lol

If she wants a "printable" copy, she should c/p it into MS Word all by herself.

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
True, although the comm it's on is copy protected so you can't. But then, I can't either unless I hit edit on each chapter and meh... I would do it for one of you guys but not some random person... :)

If I had a single textfile already and it was easy I might send it on -- otherwise like others have said I'd just let them know that I didn't have a single textfile on hand, so they might want to just copy/paste in Word.

Depending on where they got it, the fic might have hard returns coded in already.

It's not *that* hard to send a text/word file on. But. *shrug* Never had anyone ask, so...

If it were shorter or I had it all in one place absolutely... I don't unfortunately...
