That fandom as relationships thingie:
The one who seduced you, screwed you over, broke your heart in a million pieces, and laughed about it. Probably Heroes. I've just bought the DVDs and am going to rewatch from the beginning, but it definitely feels like sleeping with the ex that already mistreated you and you know you're ultimately going to split again because there was a reason you broke up in the first place, even if that reason is hazy with nostalgia.
The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp. SG-1 would be that for me. I have pay TV and it's perpetually on the Scifi channel so I catch 10 minutes here and there and think, awww, aren't you adorable but then kind of flip on by. HOWEVER, if I see a story pop up on the flist that's written by someone I like then I'll usually check it out.
The mysterious dark one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 AM at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized s/he really was fucking crazy: That would be the US Office. Ha - the 3AM thing is literal too because for some reason it would always be on really late at night here just completely randomly and I would catch it by accident. I do enjoy it immensely as a show still and I've read the odd story I really enjoyed (and written a couple) but being fannish about something that gets that loopy is really hard.
The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor and whom you'd still really like to get with again, although you're relieved s/he doesn't actually live in town: DH4. I've read some fantastic pieces in this 'verse but I feel like it's a fairly restricted canon and I have absolutely no interest (for once!) readon AUs so I'm happy I've read the stories I have but I wouldn't look around for more.
The steady: At the moment this would be a tie between Supernatural and Inception. Supernatural is my woobie heart. My constant. The stayer. Inception is definitely newer and being a movie fandom, possibly a closed and dying fandom but it seems to have had more staying power than most and you've gotta respect it. It doesn't hurt that TH and JGL are now in Batman together which gave it a little refresh.
The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with: Buffy. I completely missed the fandom boat on this one, hadn't even known fandom existed when I was watching this. I've written some stories, read some stories but Buffy feels mostly... complete to me - so much so that I don't really feel compelled to either write or read in it.
The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with, but ultimately you're just good buddies: Battlestar for this one. I loved the beginning and felt fannish and started reading stories but my joy just dipped with each passing episode and I felt really unsatisfied with the way it ended.
The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool person except it's never really gone anywhere: I'd say Harry Potter for this one. I enjoyed the books and I have the movies on DVD but beyond that I'm not really fussed.
The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at them and thinking, "How the hell did they land all these cool people?" Maybe bandom? It might be because I'm outside the US/UK so I don't even know who half (or more) of those people are.
The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and against whom you measure all other potential partners: Gilmore Girls. Rory/Dean break my heart why don't you! I hunt out and will read every single happily ever after Rory/Dean story there is.
The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better: Losers and especially Cougar/Jensen. There just doesn't seem to be that much out there but I'm going to invest in the comics.
The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only they'd clean up a bit: SGA for this one. Every now and again I feel a little pang about it but (HORROR!!) I have never actually gotten around to watching the last season. I have it on DVD but I think I just... I've been burned by the ending of so many shows and I'm just so hesitant.
Your hot new flame: X-Men: First Class. Rowr! I am devouring this at the moment and even signed up for the Big Bang because I'm obviously crazy.
The one who stole your significant other: You could pretty much say anything that took a favourite author away from what you read. I never begrudge it because I'm guilty of dropping out of fandoms myself for the new shiny but it is still always a little sad.
