It's like that thing about that hand clapping

I wonder if the same can be said as the whole if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound thing.

Basically, does a person fall on their ass if there is no one around to see it?

I fell, ON MY ASS, in front of my senior manager and another senior manager, and I didn't even fall off/over/through anything. I just went from vertical to ON MY ASS with no apparent cause.

My Senior Manager: Um, are you okay?
Me: Yeah, I'm fine.
MSM: (Trying valiantly not to laugh) I'm sorry, but did you just fall off your shoes?
Me: Yeah... I... pretty much.

*snorts*

*gives you a hug*

My supervisor tried to sit back down on his chair in his office once, and completely missed it and ended up on the floor. These things happen.

Kind of like falling up the stairs in front of about 50 of my middle school students. No particular reason, I'm just a little klutzy.

Oh no. Maybe they'll remember you now, if they didn't before. Maybe that's not a good thing to be remembered by.

Heh... all I'm thankful for is that I was wearing jeans and not the skirt I'd been planning to!

Sorry but... *lol*

Remind me not to do this myself :-D

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hee... I obviously need to remind myself!

i've come close to doing the same thing myself. years, ago, first office job.

i was trying to wire a client money before a deadline and i fell at the bottom of a flight of stairs in front of the human resources manager and the CFO. hurt my pride worse than anything else.

I'm sorry, but did you just fall off your shoes? OMG that is funny!

my apologies to your dignity! my respect and appreciation that you can laugh at yourself enough to share this with us and make me laugh my ass off first thing in the morning!

I feel your pain - nearly literally. I have ridiculously flexible ankles and sometimes, for no reason, one of them just decides it would rather be parallel to the ground and over I go. It's a little embarassing that it usually happens when I'm standing completely still.

I did that in a skirt once. the floor was slippery though.
