kellifer: (oh brother)

I just got a review through the mail for a story I wrote about twelve months ago, asking when the next chapter was going to be posted...

!!!

It was a short so there *isn't* a next chapter...

Has anyone else gotten weird random mails/comments from stories that had been posted a while ago, leaving you going huh?

I think another one I got for a Dan/Jan story was someone saying that they'd liked the story but didn't like that the two had sex before marriage.

*blinks*

Oh, god that made me laugh. *is naive, but not that naive*

ZOMG. That's because people are not supposed to ever even contemplate sex before marriage. Y'know. 'Cause it's wrong. *nods*

Heh! Some people just assume every story is a novel unless you write "COMPLETE" on it. And sometimes not even then.

Was it from ff.net? I swear, I've just about given up posting there anymore. It's sort of like a good place to jump into a fandom, but after that...

I've been amused by people emailing me about my Dorkverse OT3 series, who plead with me to PLEASE keep writing... as if I've given up. It's only been one month since the last little snippet, for cryin' out loud!

Dude. I think you should send them the link to your Peg B stories. :p

Yes... and you're right. I'm not posting on there anymore... just was when I started...

Oh hey, someone got married in my pebg... it's all legit now... *cough*exceptfortehslashiesex*cough*

Heh... I'll send them my pegb and your OT3 stuff and watch heads go splodey.

I don't mind if that's someone's opinion and if there were actually a *sex* scene in the story... but there WASN'T!!!

Daniel was recovering from surgery and so staying at Janet's and they kissed and stuff but... argh... it was when I was still too shy to write any smut.

Gone are those days... heh

Hee... it's perfectly valid for people to have those beliefs and I respect it...

BUT THERE WAS NO SEX IN THE STORY!! *slaps forehead*

I'm still getting things from fic I wrote over a year ago. Write more? If it's a gazillion chapters and it's done, it's done. Granted I have a few WIPs out there. Those I don't mind. I will finish those. Babydom got in the way.

Sex before marriage in a fic? *snerk*

I don't have any WIPS... this was a one shot little story... heh...

There was no sex in the story even. That person was teh crazy!

I was once told that a drabble, written for a drabble challenge, was 'too short'.

I still sometimes get random e-mails about a coughcoughCSIcoughcough story I wrote almost a year ago asking for another part.

Kissing is totally sex, my eastern european great grandmother told me that when I was six.

I do to. But it's still funny. Mainly because most of entertainment is littered with pre-marital sex. And it's funny because those people go to those movies and watch those shows and like them.

BUT THERE WAS NO SEX IN THE STORY!! *slaps forehead*
LOL!

Dammit.
too, not to. *points out her own error: I do to.* I meant too.

I can't freaking type.

*snerk* That makes it strange and sad, yes.

Maybe she/he knows you write smut now, without the Blessing of Wedlock, and is thus trying to steer you Morally Straight?

From: [identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com

Hee...

I must admit, I haven't so much strayed off the moral high ground as slid down it on a flattened out cardboard box, screaming "Wheeeeeeeeeee!" all the way down.

*blinks* And to that I say, we should be allowed to use cattleprods on people too!

Kissing is totally sex

Eeek... I have had sex with way more people that I thought!! (Dirty!!)

Ah... no *fan*fiction WIPS. I have two novels partway through.

OK, well I've been one of those people who ask bizarre questions about a story you wrote months ago. In one case I couldn't understand what the bug had to do with Sheppard's behavior. I was new to the fandom and didn't remember "38 Minutes." The author wrote back with a brief explanation. Clearly she was humoring me, but I thought it was nice of her to at least write back.

In another instance, I asked (different author) about the meaning of an image at the end of a particular story, penned 6 months before. She did not write back and it was disappointing that she didn't have the 5 minutes to answer someone who'd read her work and cared about what she'd written. Oh well.

Both of the above are prolific writers, so I'm sure they're very busy. But there are others who seem to find the time to respond back to the 70-80 people who've commented on their fic. Amazing. OK, I don't really have good advice for responding to the weirdos... :-{ ...since responding to one might be opening a door you'd rather not.

Sex before marriage? What're they doing on these comms? While I'm rambling...the traditional Jews in our community also hold by "kissing is sex." I can't fathom it. As many of our stories illustrate, there's a lot to be learned in a kiss.
Thanks for listening (I'll never know if you just hit the "Page Down" key)!!

Lol. I occasionally get wierd stuff. Like people correcting things (which if were actually wrong, I wouldn't mind, but canon Sam is not a medical doctor people! *headdesk*). Although I once got an email and I am convinced that not only had they never read my story, but they were obviously reviewing something else entirely. Very funny. And confusing. But at least that person took the effort! :)

As for the sex issue...SG-1 is obviously an overly sexified show, so it really is to be expected. All that hugging? And arm porn? Not to mention all the eye F****ing going on.

Really. It should be taken off the air.

:)

I'm a little bit anal with my responses. I still get lovely review emails from stuff long ago and have to write back just to say "Thanks for taking the time."

I guess I was weirded out by this because the date stamp is on the story so you can tell it was posted over 12 months ago. That would be a very long drawn out WIP... heh.

The sex before marriage thing is very valid.... if there were actually sex in the story... !! *slaps forehead*
