I am now Kellifer (Finally!! Kellifer is a weirdly popular username on just about everything, argh!) on Dreamwidth.

Add me if you're so inclined and already on there. I will be mirroring for the time being. No plans to move permanently but keeping my options open. :) It's also nice to have a backup that a lot of people will be using. I'll announce again when it goes into open beta.

I'll troll my way back through the f-list and add those who have left their usernames on my last post but if you add me and have a different username please just drop a comment and let me know who you are!

ETA: Hahahaa... so it's not friending over there, it's people you've given access to. And people don't friend you, they subscribe.

One of the big things that they wanted to fix was the fact that people whose stuff you want to read, you don't necessarily want to read your own private information. So, for example, if you use your flist to read fanfic you might friend a lot of people who write fanfic you like but you don't know the first thing about them. You can filter them out of private posts, but splitting the Friends list into two groups--people you want to read, and people you trust--eliminates some of the hassle there.
