Five things that [livejournal.com profile] surrealis associates with me and the elaboration...

John Winchester - I love the character of John Winchester. I can understand why people dismiss him as a massive douche but I see a man who has his priorities in the wrong order because he's damaged. He's turned sacrifice into an art form and dragged his kids in with him. I see a great and depthless love in him that can't find a focus, restrained and quashed because of the fight.

Sydney - I love my city and have never lived anywhere else. That might sound like a bad thing but I truly enjoy it here. I know I should try other places and I hopefully will someday but this will always be home. It's a little in the bad books at the moment for the crazy-ass weather but there's nothing quite like walking along the harbour with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge as your backdrops, hearing music in the air.

Writing - Writing is my first passion. I was writing horrible Mary-Sue fic when I was preteen and without knowing what it was. I wrote my first "book" for a class assignment and was hooked. I never truly feel myself unless I'm writing and hopefully some day I'll make a living at it. I don't even care if it's me scraping by.

Daniel Jackson - Daniel will always have a special place in my heart as the first character I ever truly felt fannish about. He was so interesting and intricate and yes, also damaged. I liked that he wasn't a caricature or a template but a person in his own right, someone you might imagine is actually out there.

An Australian show that the rest of us know nothing about - Quite a while back there was a show called "Seachange". I devoured that show and I usually don't like the run of the mill Australian dramas. A divorced woman moves to a quirky seaside town with her two kids. She meets David Wenham (!!) and everything changes. It was cute and funny and just so damn enjoyable.
