I think because it just sounded like something Jack should have said,
There's many temptations I'm fighting in this story... to just radomly bring back Zelenka and Beckett because I miss them like candy being high but the topmost is the Jack/Daniel friendship.
Unfortunately there's no reason for them to have anything other than a grudging respect for each other at this point... which is sad...
