Conversation I had with a coworker today

I have a Sony bead MP3 player which is a teeny circle that clips onto your shirt and plays music and DOES NOTHING ELSE. I do not need an ipod with its crazy amounts of FEATURES. Nope. Not at all. Okay, one thing it does is blink red if it's out of battery.

CW: What's that blinking on your shirt?
Me: My MP3 player.
CW: What does red mean?
Me: It means it's sad.
CW: Really? (Look steadily at him for about four seconds until I realise he is NOT JOKING and completely believes me).
Me: Yep, it's sad whenever I move around.
CW: Why?
Me: It won't tell me.
CW: Really?
Me: No, it's my MP3 player and it blinks red when its battery is flat.
CW: Ooooooh. I thought it was one of those tamagamochie things (exactly how he said it, it's not my spelling, I swear).
Me: Yeah, I have to go back to my desk and feed it.
CW: Really?

Walk away quickly.

I often have to explain my humour to people so I'm starting to realize that it's not them, it's me. Heh.
