This is seriously awesome! You made me kind of like Jess, which is weird after all those years of rooting for cute!Dean. I guess I just needed Jess to appreciate a Dean Forrester lookalike. Anyway, this weirdly works really well. Jess likes intelligence and danger, and those are both things Sam has in spades, and Jess has a kind of bantery rebellious arrogance that is vaguely Deanesque (um, though with less to back it up in Jess' case) and would give him enough confidence to sort of pursue Sam if he wanted him. And so I can totally see Jess liking Sam, and Stanford!Sam liking Jess, and them being together. Huh.
