Very, very nicely done. I really like how you captured Sam’s inability to just slip back into normal. It would definitely take him awhile. I also like that you were able to blend the angst with the brotherly love with the funny. All of those components worked really well here.

Favorite lines:

“Just… talk to me before you start crying into your pillow or something,” Dean offers and it is a genuine one in his own special way.

*g*

Mostly since this time Sam knows what it’s like to pinch Dean’s airway shut because he’s gut-shot and is going to take hours to die.

Ow.

Ow, ow, ow. This is such a graphic image, and it breaks my heart for Sam. *hugs him*

Dean swaps Sam’s pink toothbrush for a purple one that has fairies on it

*snickers*

Dean switches him to decaf and doesn’t say anything.

I like that Dean does little things like this to try to help Sam. *pets him*

“Deja vu,” Sam says and then he’s laughing, huge braying snorts that he can’t control.

This is a great moment, with Sam on the edge of hysteria, and yet also on the edge of coming back to something resembling the man he was before that Wednesday rolled around.

leaving the toothbrush wedged in his cheek as he flicks a bit of shaving cream off Dean’s ear that he’d missed with the towel.

Aww. Such a good little brother. *pets him*

Dean’s asking, you okay?

Sam’s only response, I will be.

*hugs them both*
