This got a giggle out of me because well, compared to that whole plauge thing and then the years if not aeons of research the Ancients did, Daniel really did just wake up and choose to be a glowy person. Besides, I like the whole psy powers idea (even if John never gets the hang of it all.)
After Pale Sky, I thought there wasn't gonna be anyone who Daniel could be with (which was a bummer because IMHO Daniel needs to be loved.) Then you go and give Daniel a lover who can deal with his weirdness and the crazyness that Ba'al caused to be so rough on not only Daniel but also anyone else he gets involved with. Besides Ronon/Daniel is as hot as Daniel/Teal'c, and Daniel needs a guy who can kick other asses and that knife fetish just adds to the yummyness.
Now before I tell you write more and soon, I must say something about that last line. It's perfect! Everything rests upon Rodney's shoulders, when he really needs to just go and breakdown in private. I cannot wait to see what will happen next. Will Rodney create some brilliant, way too smart, more than slightly insane miracle? Will Daniel stumble upon some weird Anceint tome with the Idiot's Guide to Creating ZPM's Out of Thin Air? Will Jack have a brain fart that gives someone else an idea? Will the Asgard somehow appear and save them?
I think that's what I love most about not only your fic but all of the PegBa'al storyline, the infinite chances for the utterly whumpped to do the completely insane things I love about the canon (but with more sex and slash, natch).
