Kara looks up Sam’s body at him, a swipe of colour across her forehead and an incredulous look on her face. “You wanted to see me paint,” she says, waving her brush to emphasise her point.
“I was kinda thinking that I would be a more passive…” Sam raises an arm to make a gesture but Kara pins it back into place with a knee.
“You’re lying still, or at least you’re meant to be. How more passive can you get?”
Sam huffs an exasperated sigh. He’d heard about Kara’s art from Helo. Sam had been complaining that he couldn’t figure out how to make Kara de-stress and Helo had said that sometimes she painted and that always seemed to chill her out. Sam wanted to see the Kara Helo had described with paint under her nails and a smile on her face.
He looks down his body at the brilliant swipes of colour adorning his torso. “I wanted something I could keep,” Sam finally admits.
“We’ll take a picture,” Kara says and then raises an eyebrow, edging the top of Sam’s boxer briefs down with the end of her brush. “In fact, I insist.”
