I'm enjoying reading this. I was glad to see you say that John recognized some of himself in Dean because that was the impression I got. It seemed almost like an uncomfortable glimpse into a mirror (especially when you add in the reaction to the father in the military comment). Will John experience the karmic justice of having to be an authority figure to someone like himself? I can't wait to see.
