I like this story, but Sheppard's reaction seems to be a bit over the top. He sounds like Bates, here. I mean, really, he's normally very laid-back, willing to trust people, and he kind of likes to give authority the bird himself. I just don't see him reacting like this.
You mention that he thinks Dean is like Ronon. So how come he's reacting negatively to Dean whereas he reacted positively to Ronon? He had a lot more reason to dislike Ronon! Ronon held him and Teyla hostage when they first met! All Dean's done is mouthed off, gotten lost, and fought with Ronon (and everyone gets into a fight with Ronon sooner or later, come on).
