I've had a couple of people ask (hugs you all) since I'm in Australia but I'm absolutely fine. I'm actually in a different state to the really bad fires here. There are about 60 fires (or were until the blessed rain today) in my own state but nothing threatening homes or lives currently.

I just can't fathom the loss - entire towns have been wiped out, levelled.

My thoughts and heart goes to all those in Victoria.

It's horrific and I've been so worried as I have family and friends in various places all over Australia. My brother's up in Cairns which has its own problems (dengue fever is rife right now though he hasn't caught it)but the fires are something else altogether.

I can't believe they think some were set deliberately :;shudders::

I donated via Red Cross today but no amount of money can bring back all that was lost.

I know... we've heard of firefronts moving 14kms in 6 minutes. People just didn't have time or warning to get out.

I am glad you are ok. It is horrible want is going on. I only wish that they get it under control before it costs any more lives

It's horrible. Just unbelievable. Some of my congregation members were evacuated on Saturday but the fire went in the other direction. My town's safe. I've been working with the next-door shire that has been affected the past couple of days and I just don't know how the state's going to recover. So many people dead, so many people who've lost everything, so many towns destroyed, so many volunteers doing their best to help. I still can't actually get my head around it all.

But I'm okay.
