So....

Infecting my RL friends with fanfic... another has expressed an interest and I prodded her and she's even now trying to rec a BSG fic to me... ha!

I'm kinda like a typhoid-sally (is that the term??)

But what amused me greatly was the way she broached the subject.

C: So... is fanfiction like... all sex?
K: *Snort* Um... a lot of it is but that's mostly ship stuff. You need to read Gen if you don't want sex.
C: Oh, not that I mind ofcourse.
K: Ha!

I then explained about Het/Slash and Gen and admitted (yes I did!!) to writing slash. I feel I've grown as a person... heh.

But I realised that although I write plot-heavy stuff (the two longer fics I have going at the moment, both the pegb and the hqsga) they're still pretty heavy relationship-based.

Next project - to write a longer Gen piece. I want your votes!!

SGA
SG1
or crossover SGA/SG1

and give me a random word/something that happens/character quote to include.

OK, you just did the crossover thing, right? How about some SGA? If you want, I mean. I don't know who you like on SGA though. Let me think on the second part.

SGA always and ever!

And I've always heard the term Typhoid Mary, but maybe that's not universal. =>}

SGA!

And I must say that I'm loving the expaned Blade. It was one of those fics that I originally read and wished it was longer and lo, it happened. Heh. I was stoked.

I'd vote for SG1 gen fic, and I'd also enjoy people just not knowing what to do. Maybe not all of them, maybe one, maybe the whole team, but that wonderful sinking feeling when you lose confidence, and you just don't know what to do, or how to do it, or how to order someone to do that, or how to let them go on their own.

Yeah.

SG-1. Yay for team!

And hmm... someone says a very sarcastic, "So, you handled THAT well!"

SG1!!!

Random phrase: squirrel doots. (Why yes, that's fourth grade boy humor for you, even though I assure you that I'm well past the fourth grade and not a boy. ;-) And if you're unsure what a doot is, its squirrel poo.

eeeeeeeeeeeee crossooooooover

jack and daniel come to atlantis (with obligatory Daedalus scene of J/D sex. Or snark I'm easy) jack and john go fishing on a puddlejumper and share an interesting moment together where jack passes some of his knoweldge down to john. and then jack and john make fun of mckay.

or they could make out. but that would make daniel jealous.

i need to go to class now. stupid school keeps me from READING fic. i can request it, suuure, but to sit and read anything longer than a drabble? sigh.

You get comment fic because you're special... *squidges*

--

He didn't know whose idea it was exactly but Jack had definitely been the one to say fishing and he had said puddlejumper but it didn't really matter because the end result was both of them sitting on the tailgate of the open jumper, hovering four feet above the green Atlantean ocean below, toes just touching the water and fishing poles in hand.

"Are there actually fish in this water?" Jack had asked and John had shrugged.

"Does there need to be?"

Jack had given him a rueful smile. "Good man," he'd simply said with a nod.

A few moments of quiet had passed and then Jack had turned to him. "So... Rodney's a little - "

"Careful there, that's my scientist you're talking about," John had warned and Jack had looked at him carefully.

"Besides," John had said, "I think Daniel is way more-"

"Watch it... that's my scientist." Jack had said, but his tone was equally light. John had a few moments of musing on whether an archeologist was actually a scientist and probably Rodney's very loud reaction to being compared to a man who studied rocks but the air was warm, the water cool and the fish weren't biting.

It was a day for letting things go.

Ummm...I'm not sure I saw "The Blade" mentioned in your entry above. Some of us really need for you to carry on with that too. *g* After that, however, my vote is for SG-1. I do think gen relationships can still be interesting. Doesn't have to be romantic, a good, solid friendship does the trick for me.

I applaud you for both thinking ahead on your writing AND for spreading the word (no, that doesn't make you a prior for the Ori).

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2006-01-31 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hee... *pats you* Never fear - that's the hqsga (harlequin sga... :D )

[identity profile] majorsamfan.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I double-dog-dare you to write a GEN SG1/SGA crossover that involves the word naked - or better yet, nekkid. But GEN!!!!!

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2006-01-31 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Hee... oh my god... double-dog-dared... eeee!!

[identity profile] sg1atlantis.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been dying (figuratively speaking, of course) for a romantic SG1/SGA crossover. I'd write it myself, but you rock and write so much better than I do.

Is it okay to use song quotes? Cuz, um, yea. I'm a freak. That's where my best ideas come from: songs. If not, I can probably come up with something cool. But I'd probably just steal one from a TV Show or something. *grin*

[identity profile] macgyvergal.livejournal.com 2006-01-31 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well tomorrow's my birthday, so anything SG1 and use the line "I plan on dying with as many birthdays as I can possibly accumilate."
