Fun!

Brotherhood 2 is the zine where a Supernatural story of mine is being published. It's got 400! pages of gen Supernatural stories... eee!!

It looks pretty. I've never done a zine before so it's fun. It was very nice to be asked. I've had a couple of original short stories published elsewhere but it's always nice to see yourself in actual print... even in a limited capacity. :D

If you like gen fic, go check it out.

I've had several stories published in zines and it is a blast. You'll be getting your free contributor copy? I ordered a few above that free one for my friends.

what most zine publishers do is ask you to keep the story off the net for 1 year - then you can put it online. decent tradeoff IMHO.

Yep, I'm getting a trib copy. I think I will have to order a couple more methinks... I have friends who would want them.

Yep, previously unseen story and I won't be posting it for a year... hey, I can post it just after the S3 finale as a celebration... hee!

I guess I never thought of submitting to zines... I did it the lazy way. Someone actually emailed and asked me for a story... ha!

I like their book format - the pricing seemed a bit high at first. The printing cost for this style is around $15-16 - mailing costs around $4-6. Rounding up for the envelopes etc = $25. Which works out to 30% profit - the max. I am comfortable with for fannish endeavors (I am OK with publishers charging a bit extra for their efforts, up to a certain amount). And as I said I really like these new zine formats (6x0 perfect bound)

Hey, it's 400 pages... I'm thinking it's a pretty hefty thing... :D

I'm looking forward to reading it.

(and for the first time with a zine, I'm thinking about actually buying it...)

Hehehee!

I was looking at it and thinking 400 pages of SPN gen stories! I'm in heaven... ;D

Plus - it's the only place you'll see my story for a year! Woo!

Yep, that was about exactly what I was thinking.

I really have been sucked into this fandom...and that's the first time it's really happened. I'm even thinking about buying the season 1 companion when it comes out - I've never bought a companion before!!

Ooooh... definitely tempting! I bought the Watcher's Guide for Buffy but I hadn't actually been in "fandom" then so didn't know there was all kinds of ways to squee. I had no idea about any such thing as fanfiction then... d'oh!

How completely cool! Congratulations! :)

Hehehee... thanks!

Wheee! Me, too - and I was SO psyched to see your name on the authors' list! This'll be my first time in print, so I'm kind of ridiculously giddy. 400 pages!!! *heaven*

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2007-05-16 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Eeheheee! Snap!

And what?? You saw through my cunning alias??? I asked if they wanted me to be 'kellifer_k or kellifer_fic' and they said "We'll just put you as Kellifer, I'm sure people will know who you are"... hehehee!

[identity profile] geminigrl11.livejournal.com 2007-05-16 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! Aha - you went for the "hiding in plain sight" ruse...very clever! ;)

Cool. I didn't know that SPN had a zine out. I've been so tempted to buy an SG-1 one but haven't. I just love gen SPN fic too. I just might have to check it out. 400 pages of Dean and Sam goodness! Congrats.

[identity profile] kellifer-fic.livejournal.com 2007-05-16 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hee... I think the edition 3 book has all different fandoms including SG-1... :D
